Powerful Adjustable Voltage Regulator using Transistor

I dont need a schematic, i can make one from the video. I would however like an explanation of the electrons and their journey through the circuit. Im guessing the 1k resistors setups a voltage divider with the potentiometer , and the transistors are there just to let current through?
