No 4K on netflix is because this is running regular Android. you're basically stuck with the phone versions of these apps. The lack of sound may be due to a DRM issue.

Cost to performance for TV boxes is not advancing fast enough. I can buy a $100 smart phone hook that up to a TV and achieve a better overall experience. Bluetooth my headset, mouse and keyboard, PS4, Xbox controller all while still getting better scores. I would love to see more TV boxes with Snapdragon processor's. Great overall review 👍

@Kwistenbiebel200 search for an adapter, micro usb to hdmi MHL. You can find them on Amazon, gearbest, many places, make sure the adapter also is charging your phone at the same time, otherwise you will have to disconnect the phone from the TV to charge. gocomma Micro USB to HDMI MHL Adapter. I suppose you could also use a Wireless Charging phone as well. Hope that helps 👍

Chigz great vids as always. You can get sound on netflix by clicking back on progress bar when video has started, I had the same problem but got it fix by tuning in on beelink forum as it relates to gt king. Hope this helps.

This box meets all my requirement but one size does not fit all, lol. For me the Shield lacks option's to fully customize, I personally hate its launcher, and the Android TV version compared to pure Android! & I have no desire to use Netflix but I am in the USA and perhaps have more options? This one I agree with you. Shield basic only got 16gb rom, limited ports, and cannot play anime files.. They are getting outdated because they got no competition.. Netflix not really problem to me too because 4K smart tvs nowadays (like mine) usually equipped with netflix 4k, amazon movies, google videos, miracast, etc..

Good review on this box...but on the antutu score the box I have I get 121727 antutu score which is awesome I have 4 of these boxes and will test the other 3 also on antutu...one you tuber says he has problems with the back arrow from the hidden control bar along the bottom..he said it freezes...mine works really good in every aspect that I tried..awesome box and half the price of a nivida shield in my area..keep up the great reviews. 😊 I did another run with antutu with my room temperature just a little under room temp and I got a score of 123969 so a cooler room will help the box run better which it normally should run better.but I love this box as it is awesome. 👍😊

IMO, if you are going to pay $100+ for a TV box it would be smart just to add another $70 and buy the NVIDIA Shield with the controller. You get DRM rights and it is made to run Plex.

Good review but I wonder why most of the reviews done on this box only get a antutu score of around 108 to 109 thousand when the gt king boxes I have as the one I am using now gets 124,203 as a antutu score so why are these review ones getting these lower scores..kinda baffling as these are better boxes then some people think. 😊

This is already obsolete with the GT-King Pro out now with a new chip and a better case for thermal dissipation. It's only £15 more on gearbest. What I'd like to know is if anyone's attempted to install Linux (e.g. Armbian) and use one of these as a server. The specs are on par or better than most SBCs which normally are used in home server scenarios but this could be a great all in one alternative for those who don't want to faff around with buying all the SBC parts separately and putting them together. SBCs end up being more expensive too once you price in the case, power supply and eMMC storage. Just look at the Khadas VIM3 prices...

It is getting close to shield. Many android boxes cannot play netflix hd anyway. But 4K smart tvs are getting cheaper nowadays, and they usually equipped with netflix 4k, amazon movies, google movies, plex, miracast, etc.. So no netflix on this box is not really a problem to me.

Never use Happy Chick Emulators , That's why Ridge Racer's sound was choppy. Always install the appropriate stand alone Emu and configure accordingly.

You get the sound on Netflix if you pushed the movie few seconds forward and then you can push it backward! It's something stupid but works fine

Hi, on Netflix. Did you try changing the audio source? For example, Normally where you would change the audio from Spanish to English dub. Changing from DTS to another source may make it work? I have feeling maybe the box doesn't have the relevant DRM rights to decode certain audio codecs. I also noticed the box is rooted. Did you try installing magisk and try to possibly hide root from Netflix, as Netflix wouldn't even be available in the playstore if the device is rooted.

I believe Netflix does not work because it is rooted, if you want an Andriod TV box this is a pass. Save up and get any Nvidia Sheild or wait for the new Google Chrome cast coming out. A question did you need to sideload Netflix or any other programs excluding the emulators?

These run of the mill Android boxes churn out day in and day out without much value addition. In fact, in addition they are not doing much on audio front. 5.1 is the max. Only Shield and Apple TV have Atmos I believe. Long way to go for these cheap Android boxes.

Save up a few more dollars and buy a Nvidia shield, the real King. I'm not a Nvidia shield snob, I don't own one, but after following the TV box market myself and trying to decide what box to buy. I've decided that if I want to stream videos, the 4K fire stick is all you need; if you want to be a gamer, get the Shield and have a all in one package.

This box is going for $110 to $130, and no game controller, so the shield is nowhere near double the price even at it's lower price. I can walk into Walmart and buy one within an hour, and if there's anything that I don't like about it, I can return it within an hour, good luck trying to get any help from China concerning this box. P.S. Amazon has the Shield for $188.48 also.

Interesting conundrum this one. Yes, powerful chipset, but the lack of Netflix (I suspect this is a firmware issue as you do) and yet again no airplay/Miracast. The only other reason I suspect Netflix might not be working here is that the box is rooted - as Netflix tends to take a dim view of rooted boxes. Nice to see a new SoC too.. An official Android TV OS with this chipset I suspect WILL give the NVidia Shield a run for its money too!

Chigz and other in the know is they away of removing that start up skull logo when booting up, it might be cool for the young generated but not age appropriate for the little and old ones , it scares my kids stiff each time I boot it or start it up, Anyone in the know?? All in all This is really a the one of the best second generation TV box that has an option for updating it's self without fanky cables , true hi resolution, ample storage and relatively good and smooth interface..
