I’m just finalising my Killian aura Voltron list, so thanks for the timely video! Our play group is pretty budget but I’m really excited to use some auras that you wouldn’t normally see at an EDH table like Grisly Transformation.

I must admit I thought about a deck with killian/lurrus, but adapting an existing one I had built time ago. And to be honest, my theme is just the opposite of this, auras to control your opponents and grow uncontested, as well as a lot of graveyard recursion resources. But I like this one too, I think you did a great job!

Really like this deck. It's also in a good budget spot for my preference too. I hate the super budget decks that end up as jank, but don't want to spend a ton either so this is great!

Wow I'm building lurrus companion but with ayli. Totally missed the interaction between animate dead and relic warder. Btw you also can use dance of the dead instead of animate dead for redundancy

So a bit of confusion, Lurrus can be played regardless of a permanent not being 2 cmc? Some of these are 3 cmc so Lurrus wouldn't be able to target them but also break the 2 cmc companion requirements?

I am curious what the thoughts for card advantage are in the deck? The cost-reduction effects and the low curve are going to be double spelling very quickly. If you don't have Kor Spiritdancer or Sram out then you're in topdeck mode pretty quick.

Card advantage is an issue, for sure. You're relying on your enchantress creatures or recasting cantrip auras with Lurrus. That's budget for you!

There are a bunch of auras that allow you to replace them when casted (things like "when this enters the battlefield, draw a card" and similar). The best ones break the companion condition, but there are definitely a lot of resources in budget black and white decks!

Lots of budget black card draw cards. It’s a bit similar to running Ghen.

Let me just go ahead and solve this for you right now...mishra's bauble & urza's bauble. With lurrus. Reccurable card draw (and info about an opponents hand or top deck) whenever you need it. :)

Really cool concept buI I don't see how that deck is legal with Lurrus as companion! There are several cards with CMC higher than two!

Lurrus only resrticts the mana value of PERMANENTS - non-permanent spells can be over 2 CMC

Hello, I have a question, I do not know how they can use lurrus as a companion in the killian ink duelist deck if in all the ones I have seen there are cards with a cost greater than 2 ???

Lurrus only restricts PERMANENT spells to cost 2 or less. Non-permanent spells like instants & sorceries can cost more than 2!
