I’ve watched pastors reacting to this and that are using the message to inspire. Tom isn’t a rapper, though he can rap like fire, he’s an artist who’s music reaches so many, and his openness makes it easy to relate when you have dealt with the same. This tune brings me to tears, as does the rest of his ‘feels’ music. He makes me laugh with his satire, and I feel the power when he raps. Great reaction 👍🏻👍🏻 HOG4LIFE ❤️

If you want another "in your feels" track, check out Angels. Tom dropped it on Christmas Day. It was written, recorded and uploaded to be a "free" song for anyone who bought merch from him on Black Friday. He decided that since so many of the HOG battled depression on a good day, he wanted to give us something for Christmas because so many of us are without family during the holidays, even in a good year, which 2020 wasn't, thanks to the Rona. Suicide typically spikes during the holidays. It's a beautiful message. #HOG4LIFE

This is more for the people going through the beginning of their comeback, I think. I don't believe Tom is still in this place except from time to time. As an ex-smoker (quit years ago) I know you still have those moments...or days...when the struggle is brand new again. But they pass easier as time goes on. It's really tough when the smoking was self-medicating because you already have head problems. So I feel this, but I believe Tom is more trying to help others than really speaking of his present. By the way, Nova had problems of her own too.

Brandons whole middle passage was about the ship in a bottle, he starts off as stuck on a ship in a bottle, meaning he's trapped in his addiction, "break the glass and you'll find me I'm not who I was before" and talks about being beaten by the storm(addiction) and coming out unrecognizable as a wreck still trapped in a bottle(even though it was smashed) He's now a wreck but still stuck in a bottle. More or less saying he fought the addiction and made it out, but hes still fighting his demons, only now it's not to get sober it's to stay sober. I think that's the root of the song. It's about how the battle doesn't end and it doesn't get easy. a lot of times you feel alone and abandoned.

Its like he's teetering on the line, he wants the drinks and drugs but also is at a point that he is needing more in his life. I think everyone goes through a form of this in life. Its just so hard for some people that are REALLY STRUGGLING and WANT SO BAD to find a reason/way out but they don't understand enough about the lord and his work to know he isn't going to do what you want when you want it it'll be on His time but that demon is "always listening" always there ready and waiting for them. This song hit me so hard!!!! I have never struggled with alcoholism or drugs but know MANY that have. That demon is so much stronger than the weak mind. Its so sad.... That voice on Brandon in this song LOVE LOVE!!!!! This song has been on repeat in my car since it came out Friday....

This song... I won't lie... got me misty eyed. What Thomas and Brandon said on this track are 100% facts. Back in 2005 I spent around 6 months binge drinking every till I either passed out, puked my guts up or both. I was in a dark dark hole. I can't say I have been completely sober since I have climbed out of that hole, I will drink on my brothers birthday, but every single day I have to tell myself that the happiness in that bottle is not worth it, even after 16 years.

"Whose in your life". That is exactly correct Brother. Sometimes those that profess to love you the most are the ones that are doing you the most damage. They'll hold you back from reaching your dreams and potential. This is what happened to me and I turned to the bottle every day and night not knowing just how unhappy I was. I loved the bottle and the bottle loved me in return. It was the one thing I could rely upon. Now that the person is gone, my life changed completely. Thanks for the reaction.

I remember when Tom did the Facebook live after he dropped this video and there was a flood of people in the comment section talking about how this song right here helped them kick their addiction, this song helped the alcoholic quit drinking or this song just absolutely made them break down and cry their eyes out because they were either struggling with addiction or they lost a parent or a loved one to addiction. That's the one thing that I can honestly say about music is that music is more powerful than any drug that you can either take or any medication that they can prescribe to you. Music has a way of taking how you feel and actually being able to speak on your emotions depending on what it is you're going through at that moment, there's always going to be that song that's playing on the radio and the minute you turn it on and it's always that one song you're not going to want to hear because that song is going to define exactly how the fuck you feel in that moment. That's what is so powerful and special about music is that when we fail to find the right words; music speaks for us and it also speaks through us.

We've all been in despair, thanking God will not hear a word we say. But to me, God is in your heart. He hears you loud and clear. As human beings, we always want to blame something for the things we've done. Even the things we have no control. We always get our answers. We're too busy looking in the wrong places, whether it be at the end of a bottle or two, instead of looking deep down inside of ourselves. And knowing the answers to the problems but refuse to look at them. It is where we stray away from the truth. And it is in the mirror that you look at a few moments ago. As a human being, you cannot change your heart from where it lies. And then answers you look for will never be found. The Bible is a manual of life on the way humans should live. The way we proceed in life depends upon our actions. And not until you stare truth in the face. You will never get the answers. That is if you think about it. Great video. God bless🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I absolutely love your channel and hearing your perspective! I’m so glad I found it. This song hit hard with me as I have now been clean for 6yrs but even going that long it’s still a struggle not to let those demons take over again. I was homeless for almost 2yrs for a year I was to prideful/ashamed to even reach out to friends and family to sleep on a couch. I started out living in my car for 6mths then my car got impounded while I was away from it and I didn’t have the money obviously to get it out so then I was finding street benches and ended up sleeping on the concrete behind a Taco Bell. I finally reached out and couch surfed for almost a year until I finally said F this and decided to get help and get my shit together. 3yrs after I got clean I saved up money working my 9-5 job and opened my own business. Now I’m making 6 figures (just barely but that’s a lot for me) and finally have a nice house a home. I was diagnosed with complex PTSD and found out my addiction wasn’t just about getting high but it was my way of self medicating and numbing the pain it was more about my mental health and trauma that I have gone through. When he says in the song (I don’t remember the exact bars) that he got sober and shit got worse i know what he means. When you first get sober you have to deal with yourself and your problems you can’t just numb and ignore them away and that’s the hardest and scariest part about recovery but it does get easier and in the end once you face everything you feel a million times more better than you ever did with the drugs or at least what they brought you too. If anybody reads this and is struggling... if there is still breathe in your body there is still hope. If I could get clean anybody can do it please don’t give up and keep fighting it seems hopeless now but I promise there is light at the end of it all. Much love 💗. #hangovergang 4eva 🤘🏽🔥❤️
