In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Defect. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. 0:26 I watched a KZbin video where a guy was playing as Watcher and used Apparitions to block the death from Blasphemy. That would be a very specific example of when it's good to have two!

Hot take: Biased/Pellets is a stronger synergy than Corruption/Dead Branch

It's not an insane take because dead branch can spawn bad cards if you're unlucky, but you can spawn so many cards that it tends to solo win the run, while one biased cog with pellets probably isn't enough.

I would actually argue that two copies of blasphemy often works out really nicely in a deck where you have lots of ways to exit your stance (especially when you have lots of cards like empty fist in the deck). Lol and of course I didn't listen to 3 seconds later when other people apparently chimed in with similar thoughts

Blasphemy's instant death still applies even when exiting the divinity stance. Artifact and Pellets also don't negate since it counts as a "buff"! Apparitions and buffer however can block it because it changes the death effect into damage.

@@bryal7811 haha yeah believe me I get how the card works (won many a A20 heart runs with it). The purpose of two is to make huge energy gains off them by going blasphemy, inner peace, blasphemy (gaining 5 energy with being in divinity stance ready to blap).With the proper draw you can just do hundreds of damage in one turn and won't need to worry about the consequences since everyone is dead. And the retain lets you set it up every fight for perfect kills. It can't be the only strategy of course for A20 heart runs, but boy is it easy to race through the first 3 acts and shield and spear and then you just build up a block strat as you greed all the acts.

If you rebound go for the eyes and redraw it with ink bottle on the sixth turn of the heart fight would that not strip both artifact to let you play dark shackles?

I think ink bottle draws before gfte gets placed on top of your deck

I would have taken the damage for a relic. Personally I don't care if I win or lose it's a video game I either go all in or lose what does it matter. That's my playstyle though. I don't care about winning I care about having fun

I think Baalor enjoys figuring out the puzzle of trying to succeed with the hand you're dealt. Generally that means taking educated risks, but also refraining from unnecessary risks if the expected value is low, or the risk doesn't enable something more useful down the line. Losing HP when he already had concluded that low HP is a loss condition is an easy skip.
