I recently retired and I’m dedicating my life to the redemption of my soul and the missions of my church….. unfortunately the closer you get to our father, the more devil tries….. Not familiar (I used to follow the Christian music scene very closely, but haven't for a while now) with the others, but the singer with the beard and 'gruff' vocals is John Cooper of Skillet. If you like metal/hard-rock at all, you've got to check them out. They've become my favourite band... in part because their music is so great, but also they are such great people. (I have a friend who knows them well, and met them briefly at a concert.) Maybe search up 'Awake and Alive', 'The Resistance', or 'Not Gonna Die' to give you a good feel (though they have quite a few different styles over their nearly 30 years). If you want a great worship song, check out 'Stars' (either studio, or The Shack acoustic version is my favourite), or 'Salvation'. Powerful songs with positive messages, though not all overtly Christian. I like to say they are a band composed of devout Christians, rather than a Christian band, as I think of the latter as a specific genre (which only loosely applies to Skillet).
