We don't hear her on radios anymore, and she's does not have the notoriety she deserves. That's very sad! People here don't realize how great she is. Fortunately she has a big fan base! But the public in general don't consider her anymore like the big star she was...

@@ivodasilvasantos8725 Oh génial! Content de tomber sur un Belge ici! Je trouve vraiment dommage et triste de voir que Lara aujourd'hui ne soit pas reconnue à sa juste valeur chez nous. Par exemple, j'ai été très étonné de ne voir aucune promo de son concert à Forest en janvier. Aucune affiche à Bruxelles, on en n'a pas parlé à la radio... D'ailleurs, mes amis et collègues ne savaient même pas qu'elle donnait un concert ce jour-là. C'est quand je leur ai dit que je partais plus tôt du boulot pour aller voir Lara en concert qu'ils l'ont su. C'est la chanteuse Belge qui s'est le plus exporté à international, c'est sans nul doute la plus grande voix féminine, et les Belges ne semblent pas s'en rendre compte. Heureusement que les Russes et les Québecois semblent rendre justice à son talent.

Johnny Hallyday was the biggest rock star in France. Since the 60's if you asked anyone in france who is the biggest singer, everyone will answer: "Johnny!!!", even the ones who didn't like his music. With the biggest shows, a sort of "french Bruce Springsteen" concerning kind of music. When he died, his funeral were on Tv as if he was the president, it was the main subject everywhere (to compare, it was about the same thing than in US when Micheal Jackson died). He's a french star...but he was born in belgium...just like Lara, but most of people says they are french. Each time someone sings a duo with him, it's a big event, this one was very famous because it's one of his "cult" song, and everyone thought: is she really able to do it fine...and Johnny himself said he was impressed. There are very few female singers capable of singing with Johnny as his voice was very powerful, he was absolutely gobsmacked by Lara's voice and delighted to have performed together at the "Stade de France". He was France's biggest star a musical monument (over 50 years of career), he passed away in December 2017. Thanks for reacting, Lara is unique!;)

For people who don't know Johnny Hallyday. After Edith Piaf in France, there was Johnny Hallyday. Lara Fabian was a guest of Johnny Hallyday in one of his huge concerts. Just fabulous. Johnny Hallyday had a national funeral in France. It is not my style of music but it is now part of French musical history like Edith. Two monsters. Thank you for this video.

Great reaction! This performance was beyond epic seeing it live. I'm one of the lucky ones who were in the audience that night and it was by sheer accident. I was visiting my friend and I've had a flight to catch that evening. Around 4 pm her fiance called that he missed his train and wont make it back to the city. So, she hangs up the phone and asks 'Do you like Johnny Hallyday? We've got 2 tickets to his concert and I really don't want to go alone." I'll be honest, I like Johnny, but not enough to miss my flight so I told her thanks, but no thanks and that she should ask someone else. She goes "Oh, come on, I'll put you on the first flight in the morning." She saw it on my face that I would refuse again so she rolled her eyes and turned to walk to the kitchen. 3 seconds later she made a funny little sound and whirled around with a huge grin on her face " Did I mention that Lara is a guest performer?' Needless to say that I've missed my flight.

Let me get one thing straight... Lara Fabian is not underrated. She's not commercialized. That's a whole different thing. Johnny gives Lara a huge gift by inviting her to his show at the Stade de France in 1998 for 3 nights!!! He loved Lara and he wanted her to demonstrate her vocal power and shine in front of 80,0000 people. Johnny in all his generosity.... On this third and last performance the sound of Lara's microphone is in her favor, it was at maximum (it resonated..) and Johnny's was lower.. It was Johnny who asked that it be done like that. Lara herself confirmed it. Know that Johnny was a vocal power too, but in this last performance he did not want because it was done on purpose, Johnny was very intelligent in doing that to make the song more dramatic and show their acting on this magnificent song that belongs to him. The desired goal was the dramatic side of the singing all in power but less than Lara (Johnny) with both next to him a more striking singing power (Lara) and the passionate play between the two. Everything was imagined by Johnny himself to end this last interpretation in beauty. Awesome! It's so good to see Lara's rock star side get some love! Everyone reacts to her phenomenal ballads, but she has this whole other side that they're missing out on. This song means "Requiem for a mad man". Released in 1976 (yes!) It's an (amazing!) song by Johnny Hallyday. This the biggest selling singer in France (more than 60 million discs sold) and biggest selling French singer all around the World (100 million+). This live is very emotional. September, 11th 1998... This night is historical!!! Just few weeks ago, the concert was cancelled because of the rain. They proposed a new concert this night. And... it was raining! And Johnny said : we'll do it! Lara Fabian and her voice : woaw! Johnny proposed very epic lives so many times. My favourite song is Allumer le feu, created for THIS concert! Listen if you didn't! Johnny died in 2017... It was an amazing singer!

I was trying to prepare u before introducing you to this duet. Lol Johnny is the Elvis Presley or Michael jackson in France (in terms of his fame in France and many countries of Europe, during the 70, 80 and 90... He is an icon for the french speakers. He loved Lara as friend, she admires him so much. This performance of both was at his dvd live at Satadium of France. In front of 2 hundrads thousands people. This entire video is amazing, it shows Lara vocalising and warming her voice minutes before she jumped in the stage. At the end Johnny takes her by hand and says "This is what I call a SINGER". The audience keeps clapping several minutes. They won many awards in France and Canada with this song, best song of the year, most selling song, best duet of the year, etc...Lara's vocal range at this performance: F#3 - B5. Thank you.
