Great job!! I don't have Dewalt batteries, i have toro. I tried to find the toro battery holder to step down converter on Amazon but couldn't find it. Do you by chance have a link for it?
@OffThePathWithKevin6 ай бұрын
Sorry I did some looking and can't find anything for the Toro batteries, even tried to find just the batter output device and then you could wire in the step down converter! Do you know if any other brands of batteries are also compatible with the toro stuff?
@lemannsjr236 ай бұрын
@OffThePathWithKevin oh ok, thanks for checking. I can't find anything compatible for Toro. I may have to just break down and buy a dewalt battery. I do have Kobalt battery equipment also and Ryobi.

You could go solar like the RV life..single solar panel on the roof, lithium battery connected to the junction box and there you go....A stand alone, unlimited power landscaping enterprise....Plus, you could put battery chargers in there for battery powered items if you go that route in the future. Thanks for sharing.
@OffThePathWithKevin6 ай бұрын
The system could easily be changed to run off a 12v battery in place of the dewalt and you could wire it up to also charge off the truck when towing it!
@davelauraphillips88146 ай бұрын
@@OffThePathWithKevin Did you consider a portable power station, like a Jackery? You could charge it from roof top solar panels. It has several output capabilities including 12 VDC and 110 VAC. That would give you almost unlimited options of what you could do with its output.
@OffThePathWithKevin6 ай бұрын
We have one that is how we run our portable 12v cooler for drinks throughout the day!
@drivethru18354 ай бұрын
BuT this is the way to go for low voltage power. I bet this whole system is under $100 and drill batteries charge fast. Compared to trickle charging from solar. You can even connect jumper cables to the drill battery adapter which is capable of jump starting a car( not sure about a truck tho ) lol.
@thomashodge6 ай бұрын
Install a fused master switch right after the battery output. You'll protect the battery and be able to kill all power when not in use. Very nice!
@OffThePathWithKevin6 ай бұрын
The battery is protected by the low voltage protection component! There is no need for a switch to kill power output!

Hey! I just got mine built bit for some reason I'm not getting any power out from the low voltage cut off? I've tried playing around with the cut off voltage but can't seem to get it? Unless it's just a faulty cut off? The light saying that it's "on" doesn't even come on.
@OffThePathWithKevin2 ай бұрын
Double check your wiring to make sure it's correct! Then remove the low voltage cutoff from the circuit and see if the system works! If so the low voltage cut off is bad!

What is the purpose of the terminal strip? Why wouldnt you just go directly to where you want to go? It feels liek the terminal strip is just another component that could fail? (Not sman expert, just curious)
@OffThePathWithKevin6 ай бұрын
The terminal strip is there so there is a positive connection between components and not a splice!
@davelauraphillips88146 ай бұрын
Terminal strips are used in all sorts of places, including industrial and military applications. As Kevin said, they are a great way to make connections to multiple devices. They are reliable, safe, and easy to work with including initial installation and making changes later. I am a retired nuclear power plant worker (both US Navy and commercial) and terminal strips with crimped connections are everywhere!
