I procrastinated too much and ended up not being able to sign up for the competition I was eying. In today's video I take you through a potential start to a peak to enter a meet on short notice and share some insights from my training.

Love the thoughtful walkthrough of your training, looking great! I do find sometimes I'm too much in my head and I need to just lift and analyze later. Maybe throw on some extra music and go for it. You got this meet - even if feeling a bit light, always good to get out among people, get inspired for next things.

Good stuff on this one. I like the more extended training content as it helps to see the decision making process for some of the more nuanced things (i.e. warmup exercise selection, timing, reasons for backing off or pushing reps/weight, etc.). I have to integrate hanging again. That's something that I forgot I used to do for warmup. Tough on the 72" rack but that's why knees can bend!

Are those sorinex straps you're using on your rogue rack? If I were to get a pr-5000, would you still suggest getting rogue (or sorinex?) straps and their brackets instead of the corresponding ones from rep? Good luck with the meet man...
@BasementBrandon
@BasementBrandon Жыл бұрын
These are the Rogue straps on my Rogue, but I do have sorinex straps on my bench. With REP, they've updated/fixed the issue with their straps, so it would more boil down to how you like them to attach. Personally I like the Rogue/sorinex ones better b/c they take up less footprint on a rack.

I have been using it for about a year and I highly recommend it. You can completely adjust the cycle lengths to fit your needs. I normally do 3-4 month blocks and it breaks down each block to a hypertrophy phase, a strength building phase and then a peaking phase. I don’t compete but even I get excited to each peaking phase to test my one rep maxes.

IMO It's an amazing training app. Period. It's not a replacement for a coach. Not at all. It does not check your form, nor your fatigue. It does not see you. However, it's the best tool I've found if you're willing to invest in yourself; it's a tool that shines that helps to understand yourself better. By self assessment, It can teach you how to gage your RPE and RIR and once you get better at those, it's where it really shines as you're more in tune with the algorithms. You can also ask question to in the help section and if you follow juggernaut or other good videos online, you get really improve your form and such. So it helps you become a better coach for yourself. I used to have a coach before when I was living in a big city, but now I live in the wood and I have my homegym. I had to find way to get better, heal my knees and such. It's expensive yes, and it's not perfect, there is some UI ergonomic that needs to be addressed (nothing major), I would like to see the integration of the warm up lifts and the cardio directly the daily training or to have web based version when I don't want to use my phone (I plan to sacrifice a tablet for that). I would also like to see simulations of other trainings or changes without having to wipe my current progression. But the pros definitely outweigh the cons.
