You can be cool but not "hi-fiving a friend riding a wave in a huge Mavericks swell" cool

Everytime I watch a Mav's video, I watch in amazment as guys drop in on a bomb, and get a pit in my stomach when I see someone get caught inside. I'll never ride any wave like Mav's, and that's okay by me.

Too much for me. I’ll stick with the cove 🏄

I go every chance I can. To listen to the birds. Too old to surf that. Would like to see those fellas but haven’t figured out how to get the view. It sounds just like the video being there. The buoys. The seagulls. I think I have heard those exact birds. It’s a mazing. NorCal

6:10 is what you came to see, acid drops about 10 feet by my measure, that's some vert almost.
@victorcheg45563 жыл бұрын
That was at least 20 feet. Idk how are they alive! I surfed at Pacifica beach around January! Waves kept nailing me down to the ground. I thought I was gonna die.

Well I don't know how you are measuring / estimating the height of the breaking waves. The crest of the wave at 5:22 falls down in 1,1 to 1,15 secundes. The free fall formular is h = 0,5 * g * t^2. So h = 0,5 * (9,81 m / s^2) * (1,13 s)^2 = 6,3 m (20,5 ft). The amplitude (A) is 0,5 * h. So then 10 ft is about right.
@Oliver1997Physics2 жыл бұрын
@@victorcheg4556 20 feet wave height and 10 ft amplitude. Both are physically right.

@@victorcheg4556 Good wax or a grip pad, pretty sure they run a jet ski to pull people these days also if they are struggling from a slam

Looks like, I borrowed, this surfer's board, before! At 10:19, he shifted? He had it, made! I drop in, just like it, it's quicker-- safer! But tricks, the memory, alot! Islander intel.

Nice vid. Thanks, Powerlines. Mostly no music - much appreciated. The only way to improve this would be to add NO music at all.

Awesome! Great job on that ride from 6:00 to 7:00! I love this video because the camera is close to the water, so we really get to feel the size, power and sound of the waves!
