JAWS TOW SESSION 1/22/14 [RAW, 35 MINUTES]

A three hour window of rideable conditions during a fast arriving huge swell at Pe'ahi, Mau'i , Hawai'i on January 22, 2014.
Featured Athlete Jamie Mitchell wrote the following about this session:
"What a crazy day this was . The buoys were bombing this day and #Hollywood was at #peahi filming for Pointbreak 2. I was staying with @kai_lenny and we were trying to work out a plan of what to do. I remember calling @davekalama and begging him to come up with us to check it out and be our guy. It took some convincing but he said yes eventually and we got ready and launched from the harbor. Once we got up there it was pretty much Chaos. Lots going on and we decided to take the skis past Peahi to look for another wave. But we ended up back at Jaws and at this stage @ian.walsh @makuarothman @billykemper @lairdhamiltonsurf were all in full suits surfing and filming for the movie. If I remember correctly the only other teams out were @yusurf / @chuckpatterson and the Porchella Brothers @franciscoporcella / @nicollo_porcella . At this stage I asked @davekalama if he could try find me one that the guys working the movie didn’t go for. And as expected he found me this gem 🙏
and one more this day. We only had a small window before the wind went nuclear so thank you Dave for the perfect whip. He also got Kai a few nice waves before we had to drive the skis back into a 40-50 knot headwind to the Harbour. We were literally driving the skis 10 ft from shore to minimize the beating😂

Amazing day at the Peahi. Its like walking for so long right, but nice shot of the tow surfing. Even the chopper had to outmaneuver the wind gust and that guy on deck lol hold on braa lol chyyehuuu!!

Wow 😮 excellent footage. Those guys really got courage to go for waves that size. I love watching big wave surfing, but you wouldn't catch me out there now. Perhaps when I was younger and much fitter I may have given it a go? I know when you look at the surf from the beach it may not look all that big but when you get out there it's way more bigger and frightening.
