Awesome how this second vid is a lot more slick than its predecessor. Thanks for the clear explanation. Thinking of making g5 mod as well.

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah I am disappointed in the first video for sure. Just a lot of frustration around everything that happened but I am glad you kept with the series. You should for sure do the mod. It makes for a fantastic system.

Jacob Person sure, btw a cool project would be to mod an iMac and use the screen case and insert a 144hz panel instead

Thanks.Yeah I'm going to do it! Was considering purchasing The Laser Hive Conversion Kit but it is just too expensive at $165 AUD just for the Back Panel. So now I’m just going to purchase some two part epoxy for the standoffs or I might even try cutting out a motherboard tray from an old PC and modding it to fit inside the G5 case, this is going to be a real recycling project to give the old broken Power Mac G5 a new lease on life). I will use a Dremel with some cutting wheels to cutout the back plate for the motherboard. Will for now just rewire the front panel for power and a single USB 2.0 Port . I'm looking at using an old mrco ATX 1156 motherboard and might reconstruct an ATX PSU to fit inside the G5 PSU, this may not be necessarily but might be fun anyway . Again thanks for the build guide.. ;-)

Check out Dom Esposito's build. We both did ours at the same time working on getting them together. He is using an MATX board so he put that top panel back in and mounted his SSDs up there. We had talked about doing the laser hive kits but we wanted the outside of the case to look as unchanged as possible. As for cutting out an older motherboard tray, just make sure you leave some room behind it for cable management 👍 Dom's video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIO6ZZZne9OFqKc
