Thanks for the video. I just started RYO'ing ~week ago. Already replacing that electric injector. Powermatic 3+ is on its way. Had to try to eliminate the packing bit as it's a problem. Also got the moisture meter in today so now I know that the moisture content is not the problem.

The Brigii Mini Vacuum works awesome to clean the inside, tube, top, underneath all very easily and quickly, highly recommend! :) I'm close to 9000 on mine, usually takes about 6 minutes for a pack and keep it all stored on a regular sized 11x17 cookie sheet, mess stays in the cookie sheet, the pm3+ is by far the best product I have bought for smokes and I make size 100's, it pays for itself after making 2 cartons! :)

It does good for Kings but not 100 tubes using Gambler Tobacco. Thinking of getting a HK-3. It won't run with just pulling the finely cut Gambler Tobacco out of the bag. I have to cut it up more finely & it still Jams but it'll clear after pressing the start button again.

Tobacco too moist? Won't work well. Tobacco too dry? Won't work well. Tobacco straight out of the bag? Won't work well. Tobacco cut too fine? Won't work well. Wrong brand of tubes? Won't work well. Machine begins to age? Won't work well (and gets louder). That said, it's still a pretty good machine once you figure it out. I use TOP tubes as they seem to feed the best. I put my tobacco in a food processor to chop it up. Still get lots of ruined tubes, cigarettes that are packed too tightly, cigarettes that are packed too loosely, and sometimes cigarettes that are both too tight and too loose at the same time (packed too tight but have a weak "neck"). I've had three of these machines. A new one always performs much better once you get the hang of it. Some time around the 10k mark on its odometer they start to get screwy. I replaced one at 15k, another at 25k, and my current one is on 35k. I wish you could open them up to clean them. I could be wrong but I think the Powermatic III was better in that you could eject the spoon just by opening the hopper door and pressing the start button. Lots of times the "nipple" will get halfway clogged and you need to fire the machine once or twice to clear it. At some point they "improved" it. Now it will not eject the spoon with the hopper open, and it has to run a cycle before the spoon ejects. It messes up your count, and it's slower.

Hi there handyman thank you for the explanation about using the density operation I got my powermatic3 plus a very short time ago your video was very useful so if I want to make super kings I believe so use the top setting and the bottle for lose king size? Also wanted to let you know that making our cigarettes ourselves are better than shop shop broad cigarettes commercial cigarettes as they contain different poisons that they used to preserve the cigarette and our cigarettes don't contain the said poisons again thank you for the the video it is helped out a lot and you should check out the powermatic 5 it does everything puts the tube on all you have to do is fill the two hoppers regards Mikey from the UK

Lack of salt can kill you. It's called hyponatremia, and I had it.. I think you meant eating too much salt, which is very hard to do.

my only issue with the powermatic 4 is it has a very weak spring for the pull lever, it causes the tray where you put the tabboco to stay open, meaning you pull it up and it droops down alittle. you have to HOLD the lever when you put more in. (and the mess.. the power matic 4 is an AWFUL mess.) I'll be picking this machine up today. this looks so neat, clean and fast.

It’s taken me 3 hours to make 4 packs!! I’m so frustrated!! What am I doing wrong?? I try loosening up the tobacco, sometimes it works and most times it doesn’t 🙄😡 what a waste of tobacco?!

What size tubes are you using? I just got mine today and the hopper keeps showing up, so far I have made 2 packs of cigarettes successfully, have a pile that didn’t come out right. I am using 100 size tubes, which setting should I use?

I use king. If you are using 100s you need to put it on the highest possible density setting. The longest bar on top should work hopefully.

@@handyman-network Thank you, I did that after trying all and it seems to work best. I bought a Powermatic 3+ from eBay and it only made 3 cigarettes and quit so I sent it back, which was a hassle because the seller wouldn’t respond. So I ordered this one from Amazon, the tray is the difference, this is just the 3 and has no tray.

I did take your advice on cutting up the tobacco, got sticks out and a piece of plastic. Since this is my first try at this I wasn’t sure which brand to buy so I bought Bouy from a local store. Cutting it up made a world of difference.

The indicator bars have nothing to do with the length only the density of the pack. I was using the top setting and could barely draw smoke through the cigarette. Went to the center setting and now they draw easily.

User tip: use cigarette cut tobacco, not pipe. It will clog. Don’t be a cheap ass, get the cigarette cut tobacco

I buy Gambler tube cut brand gold. Has a cowboy on it. As long as it says cigarette cut on amy brand. It’s hard to find where I’m at but Smokers Express or Smokers choice outlets have em. Not sure if they’re nationwide or whatever.
