Record label are at greater risk to lose money,but they've been bin the business for long, so they can sign and know who can make money and launch to the main streams of the world at large...so their commitment over the years pays at last...the best is record labels to handle you for a period of time and later you van standby your own....be guided music minister.everybody just needed a good life to live...beyond that pls know the actual essence of the gosplebof christ it self...shalom

The record labels are investing on unknown talents which is risky. If the artist is not okay with the contract or record label, he/she should either terminate the contract amicable or disengage after the end of the contract in a peaceful and Godly way as ministers unto the Lord. As a Christian everything should not be about money, for a good name is better than riches.

So for the part saying everything should not be about money, do you understand that money is important when it comes to advancing the kingdom work. Or do house you live in would you preach to your landlord at the end of the month that you are a minister of Christ he should not take house rent, or you have forgotten that to keep the ministry going funds is needed, don't you know that Royalty is like pension to a Gospel minister after the contract expires. Or how do you think they are supposed to get funds to produce more good and anointed music/ videos to bless you, if their royalties are withheld. Sometimes we need to understand how this things work before we start making our conclusions and comments.

All record companies are business venture and all record artist are the raw material that record labels refine and sell,so is business the problem with nigerian musican be it religious or circular singers,they loss it when they get to stardom,then there eyes opens but they have obligation to finish the contract or follow the right procedure to cancel the contract and not come and be claiming victims,upcoming most time don't care and most not care much about money but consistency and connect that can keep you relevant after you decide to leave the record label

So they shouldn't make money using their talents for God? I don't really understand what is sad about that. What you are saying can be likened to you working for your boss without expecting a pay. Even Jesus called it my 'father's business'. That's how God blessed them for expanding the kingdom through their ministration and I don't think there's anything sad about that.

What many people, especially the Christians, dont know about, this so called gospel singers, is this, record labels & the singers are all in pursuits of money, in the worldly people's ways. Either we agree or not with what the label owners are doing, they brought the singers, into limelight, now, the singers hates them. We need to ask, who is really/truly born again? hun..God help us.
