IMO, this is one of GM King's best-ever videos. It's got precise analysis, a compelling narrative, and a free detailed post-mortem lesson for everyone - and especially for Keymer - on engaging your opponent. If you want reasons to support this fantastic channel and all the value it can add to your game, then look no farther than this video.

At 18:40 starts a free little lesson for Keymer. Well, probably this tournament came a little bit early for his chess improvement and carreer, but I think it's a big occasion for him, between the big guys, even if he loose every single game.

I think this is exactly the experience such players need. There is a huge difference between open tournaments with many players below 2500 and closed tournaments with no player below 2700. First of all, professionals have a different approach to the game. And secondly, that is especially true in closed tournaments, where you do not have to go all out for a victory all the time. If these young talents want to develop, I think it is a must to start in such competitions as early as possible.

These super GM Tournaments always need one spot for a talented and promising player because every super gm needs and wants to win against them so the game is more interesting. I like it a lot

Maybe one U18 spot and one women spot in every major tournament? Although sometimes it is also great to just see the top 10 players battle it out at the absolute peak level.

I played Naiditsch years ago when he was in the age of Vincent. I lost as sicilian and i rembered that his coach GM stood the half game behind my soulders. After the game we analysed and i had with Naiditsch quite a long intresting conversation about him an his future in chess. He told me he sone will become very good in chess and theirfore he need a better coach than Glek! That shows his great selfconfidence he even had in his young age!

Standing behind you for half the game is somewhat intimidating and if it were me I would have had words! Regarding Naiditsch's self-confidence - that rings true!

Hi Dany! I think there is a good parallel between this and Anand's Victory over Paco on the same round... Paco gets a nice attacking position with the White pieces and Black just doesnt have a clear plan... But the away Anand deals with this difficulty just opens room for White to go wrong. I think it worths a video too ;) Btw... Anand never touched any of three king pawns until absolute necessary, as u more or less advised =)

Thank you indeed - I really like this way to present a game. First more or less the line played in the game, than going to the critical points. Otherwise its quite hard to follow the game, especially if one does see it for the first time not watching it live and when it's a complicated, not so often played line. I wouldn't mind you do it more often that way. :)

It made me laugh when I saw this was going to be a Closed Sicilian. Having played the Closed exclusively from 1980-1993, in various styles and still play it if the right opportunity arises. I now play a more varied selection, but know this type of position so well. After 19....g6, no matter what any computer may say about the position being equal, like you say in practice this is so easy for White. The attack plays itself so well, that after 20.e5 one could argue White has a reasonable advantage.

I thought the same, I thought it was just inefficient. But I wonder how much of his game plan he developed there already. Maybe things like: "Let me try to get dynamic play going and at the same time blunt him" were already going through his head. If so, maybe it was worth it.

Very complicated game, nice analysis. If you can point a finger at any single weak move, it seems to be Black's ...g6, why weaken his kingside further. Perhaps his hope was to play ...f5 soon?
@kenspencer9895
@kenspencer9895 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I did not like Black's g6 move. However, after it was played, maybe a subsequent Re8 and Nf8 would have helped the defense . . . just some initial thoughts.

This time it sounds like you are saying "a normal 'Sh'eveningen posistion". And you might think what an annoying stickler, but if I didn't enjoy how you present those games, if I wasn't hanging from your words, as they say, I wouldn't notice any of this. :D Thanks for the analysis, so informative. I think an excellent idea to go back and pinpoint some (critical) positions and ideas.

"Worst performance?" Strange commentary; many top 100 hundred players would have no points after playing against nr. 1, 2, 6 and Naidisch with Black. It was clear from the very beginning, it would be a tough, but valuable experience for Vincent, so don't see any underperformance and no reason to criticize him in any way.
