Fair warning to newbies and casual players: the difficulty can't be lowered and it's very hard/borderline insane unless you're a seasoned pro with this kind of games. One or two hit at most often means instant death unless your energy is at max.

Is it just me or are so many of the boss attacks impossible to read and only possible to avoid through trial and error. So many attacks seem to be not only very powerful, but also instant, giving you no chance to react at all. I feel like the souls games are much more fair about this.

Go for omyo magic, take sloth spell and weakness spell. Just smash the button 😂😂, all enemies going so slow, even the boss. Make u easier doing combo 😊😊

One huge difference between this game is the story, Dark souls forces you to put together the pieces of the puzzle yourself, this game does that for you. And this game doesn't give you that sense of utter loneliness that Dark souls does.

This game is nothing like Dark Souls. This game has a lot more in common with Onimusha, Ninja Gaiden and Tench. Nion only contains minor shit like bloodstains, some of the GUI, and health. Otherwise it is its own game.

Nope. This game is all identical to other games especially dark souls. The only major different and perhaps unique it brings is fast pace battle, easier, more bosses (way too much), variety of weapons skills & those guardian forces thingie. Otherwise the story is real bad and the character is so irrelevant to the world, a white man mastered all japan fighting techniques and try to be like a japanese, just off.

Dark Souls truly does give you that sense of utter loneliness. How could one possibly feel more alone when there is at least 1 npc to have a nice chat with in almost every area? Truly creates that atmosphere of complete and utter isolation. At least in the original Dark Souls at least.

And i'm not mad at the protagonists apearance or story anymore, i like how it felt like i was playing the witcher. I think William is based off of a real Life foreign sailer Wiliam Adem turned samurai and that's also what the 'last samurai' movie was based off of too i think, or the movie was fictional but the protagonist was based off adam idk

He wasn't a samurai, it was an Englishman who worked as a navigator and naval pilot during the dutch trade with Japan. They same thing happened with the Portuguese, the Nanban era. Of course they've over exaggerated his looks in this game cause Japan loves to make their heroes white, blonde and blue eyed warriors and he's not even English, this guy is Irish, even more proof they just wanted a fictional white guy in feudal Japan setting. If this game is based on REAL historical event characters from Japan then they should have at least looked Japanese. Tachenaba looks NOTHING like a Japanese and Edward Kelley looks NO where near any resemblance to the real Edward Kelley, its a joke.

Inappropriate Username they are more random because the gameplay is faster paced and the player's character can react fast, especially because attack/dodge animations end up quickly and apparently can be cancelled.. In Souls games enemies are more predictable and telegraphed because your character can't cancel movements, so it would be impossible to beat if enemies acted like the ones in Nioh do

My observerations after watching this video: (1) The story line is simply brilliant. Very high originality in storyline and characters development, plus the theme is very fascinating - a mixture of Nordic inspired take on Elizabethan era and Japanese mythologies. I've never seen anything quite like this. (2) This could easily be made into a Hollywood blockbuster movie. (3) I love the cinematic intros prior to fighting all the bosses. They are dramatic and we are drawn to their story. (4) Bosses are WAY TOO WEAK (or the player in the video is way too good). In any case, the bosses fights are very dissapointing. Would have love to see all the bosses with much more unique animations and them being significantly harder to beat. Would also have liked to see mechanics where bosses all have deadly "Ultimate skills" and combo chains that are lethal. Bosses performing fatalities on the protagonist is also a cool idea. They should look to Mortal Kombat XL for inspirations. (5) Kelley, oh Kelley.... You are a fucking awesome boss. It's been a while that I've seen a boss that looks this cool. Love the tatoos, costume, dark magic vibe, red python and teleportation/blinking skills and the all-consuming gothic style. If he doesn't inspire you to go GOTH then I don't know what will. I love it that we have a Gothic boss with some ancestral/medieval dark sorcery in a Japanese samurai era. Very cool dialogues, animations and skills, but way too weak. I mean, I expected to see him conjuring much more magic, literally hundreds of "blood swords" should be up in the air ready to strike deadly combos or impale all at once and can unitedly defend Kelley should he wants to go defensive at any given time. I wanted the whole battle to be a fantastical blood bath. It should have been next to impossible to beat Kelley. Kelley's transformation into the 7 headed snake is also very cool, but the attacks from each of the snakes seem robotic and repetitive. Should have made them more fluid and alive. Each head should syncronized effortlessly whilst attacking simultaneously. Each head should also be equipped with unique abilities eg: self-regeneration (can grow back a decapitated head within a certain time frame), or each head representing a dark elemental magic eg: red orb, corrupted soul, shadow, venom etc. The 7 headed snake is a final boss for a reason, don't make the fight this easy or predictably boring please. Kelley deserved better than this. (6) The hundred eye boss is soooooooooooo freaking cool, but then all of a sudden he turns into a giant toad with lots of testicles, I mean tentacles... WHY??? He was freaking menacing as was before simply with some eyes popping out on his forehead and carrying that bad ass golden scepter. Why did he need to turn into some lame giant toad -_- Also, the animations and skills of the eye balls are pathetic. The eyes should have filled the entire chamber and moved effortlessly through all the Great Hall. It should have been individually alive. Perhaps if you stare into the eyes it will freeze you momentarily putting you at absolute vulnerability etc. That's the sort of skills a final boss should have had. What a missed opportunity. The hundred-eye toad is still awaiting a prince to kiss it and all is well. My favorite boss?? Of course, The Bat Lady. Why? She's at least 7'ft tall, legs for days, eats men for breakfast, sexy animations. After she's defeated, she wanted more cocks. Literally.

1st: ds1(was my first souls experience and that made it brutal)2nd: ds3(for the insane bosses and the lack of frickin poise)3d:bb(also insane bosses but the new combat system was easier for me)Nioh is a very nc game but is nowhere near as hard as the souls games. The mobs just hit you for half hp and that's it. Souls has so much variety on how to kill you. The mobs are plenty and unpredictable. Whoever says nioh is hard is a casual and never played the ninja gaiden on the hard dificulties

Comments of it's dark souls are everywhere. Now I'm a dark souls fan myself and never play Nioh (I don't have a PS4 sadly) I get more of a Ninja Gaiden with some similar Souls aspects vibe than specifically Soulsborne from watching this video.

Golden Grace because you played as a damn wolf god, in this you play a human who isn’t a god or even demigod and have at least some form of human limitations getting hit 5 times by a giant fist isn’t gonna scratch a wolf god that can jump high in the air using divine weaponry, especially if it does so well in combat it has a mechanic that rewards it by giving it up to 3 free damage free hit takes

Instead of some grandiose, long winded cutscene, showing the final boss who is a 10 foot monster with 100 eyes, how about making the final boss a human who just as skillful as the player?

Sparkz Mentalz duels get boring if used too much, and you already duel quite a few foes in simple 1v1s no special benefits for either. Friggin Orochi is perfect. I’ve never even touched the game tbh

Jdm Sauvage nope, in Nioh you can easily combo-stun the bosses... In most Souls games you cant

I loved the idea of a DS style game with Japanese background and I was even considering buying a PS4 just to play this game, but then I watched this video... The fights look so dull, unimaginative and boring, the scenarios are repetitive (most of time are just a room with some fire), and the soundtrack is constantly recycled. Thanks to PowerPyx for saving me some hundred euros.

I played it on PC 2020, The game is hard, the guy who played it know how to keep the pressure on with just basic combo, this madlad not even using the ki pulse. I love souls series, It's too bad if you don't give it a try on nioh just because. I hope nioh 2 come out to PC.
