@@user-unos111 It's confirmed in Dirge of Cerberus that Reeve is a "inspire", a person with the superhuman ability to imbue life into inanimate objects. Reeve controls Cait Sith with his mind, but he also has a auto pilot mode for special ocasions.

Just make him a robot with an advanced IA who can operate on its own but can also be switched to "manual control" if Reeve needs it.

As bad as rebirth was, one thing i feel it did very well is Cait Sith. He was just kinda... there in the original, to betray the party and then rejoin, with not much personality outside of that, but damn does rebirth make me love him so much more.
