He might have saved Outworld and Earthrealm from needless war at the Festival, by escorting the Earthrealmers home past General Shao and Reiko at great personal risk. After hiring, he proved his chops fast by sticking his neck out AGAIN for the Tarkatans. Little wonder he has Mileena's ear.

I love the Mortal Kombat series. I have ever since the standup arcade cabinets of MK1. But I wish they would actually make full on cutscenes for the character endings instead of floating pictures with narration. That's just me though

As nice as Full Motion Video or in-engine animated endings are to see, I imagine that even for a massive company like Warner Bros., with their Hollywood production values, the budget for a video game, especially a fighting game, could be stretched a little too thin. As for Tekken’s FMV endings, the last game in the series to do that was Tag 2, a spin-off from a decade ago. T7’s ‘endings’ do not count because of how appallingly low-effort they are, both for the main Mishima Saga and especially for the Character Episodes.

Hear me out: what if the one enforcing the shapeshifter ban on Zaterrans is Chameleon? They’ve been setting up Chameleon as a likely Zaterran/Saurian in his few appearances, and Khameleon (the female one who is confirmed Zaterran) gets to be in the game as a part of the New Era and not just a non-canon Kameo. Who’s to say her counterpart isn’t here too? Chameleon himself is a prime example of a shapeshifter, someone who can straight up mimic the abilities of others without any issue. No one knows who he is and there wasn’t any information on him in the documents Reptile read, making this person a being from the shadows who evidently prefers to stay hidden like Chameleon was. Chameleon was someone who was focused solely on obtaining power from his little story in the original timeline, what if him killing other shapeshifters is so he’s the only one with that power?

For those wondering who it could be, I think the answer was revealed during a dialogue between Syzoth and Sindel. Where the name Mahazzem was mentioned. It's not revealed exactly who he is but his goal is to turn Zaterra against the empire.

Reptile's race was originally from Earthrealm, but were forced to leave because of Shinnok (he still exists, he's just powerless). Reptile's mutation results from the fact his evolutionary path never deviated from Earthrealm's conditions. I suspect if Saureans learned the truth, they would want to attempt to conquer Earthrealm, hence the lies.

Finally Netherrealm acknowledges how selfless and noble Syzoth is. EDIT: I've rewatched this a couple times and I just realized that... Syzoth is a perfect modern-day trans allegory. He changes his appearance and is ostracized for it, for he would've been killed if he hadnt fled. He goes on to discover the truth that there are many others like him who are either ostracized or killed for their ability to drastically change their appearance. His fellow Zaterrans, killed for just existing differently. His ending isnt, by nature, a trans allegory, but it fits *_VERY_* well as a metaphor.
