Your video just saved me days of agonising anxiety!! Thank you so much for shining a light on how I can present the information such that it speaks to the sponsor's needs directly. I found this video in the process of digging through all of the useless fluff in order to learn how to write a good sponsorship proposal and I was so lucky to find this video and then your website. I learned everything I needed to know about submitting a great proposal and the process it takes - thank you for all the information but thanks even more for making it so easy to get. I am super proud of the proposal I sent out and even if they say no I am 100% sure that it was an excellent professional proposal. Thank you 😊
@PowerSponsorship6 жыл бұрын
That's wonderful! And yes, even if you do this perfectly, you'll still get a lot of "nos", but at least they won't be because you've sold yourself poorly. I hear all the time that a sponsor has said "no" based on budgets or politics or whatever, but also said that it was the best proposal they've ever had, and to definitely come back next year. If you do it right, the door will always be open for another run at it. Good luck!

If you have no track record, the professionalism of the rest of the proposal is going to be that much more important. Truly. Spend the time, get the training, book, etc to do it right, because it's harder for you than an established event. If you need somewhere to start... How would you approach this differently when it's a government related sponsorship? I understand that most of the same things would apply, but I presume a few things would be different and possibly benefits would differ, because they would be more societal and abstract than tangible benefits for the sponsor themselves. Thanks!
@PowerSponsorship3 жыл бұрын
As long as it's sponsorship and not a grant, it's the same. Corporate sponsors are trying to change people's behaviour and perceptions, and one of those behaviours is often increasing sales. Government aren't trying to sell product or services, but they're still trying to change behaviours and perceptions. You just need to figure out what they're trying to accomplish, and create a proposal around that.

@TheCueTube3 жыл бұрын
@@PowerSponsorship Absolutely - and I'm grateful! Very useful and succinct. Just I'm an audio guy so it was hard to ignore...apologies! A couple of quick questions... 1. We're organising an event to raise funds for a charity, with a partner already in place, and looking for corp sponsors from the relevant sector. Whereabout in the presentation would we mention the charity, how much would we include and what are the key messages to say about that? 2. I want to include some quotes from our audience that we have received to indicate their enthusiasm and motivation for participation...is that relevant if done succinctly and perhaps just one example of each in the 'audience sectors' section? Thanks again!
@PowerSponsorship3 жыл бұрын
@@TheCueTube 1. How much you highlight the charity angle depends on how meaningful the charity or issue is to the people the sponsor is trying to influence and align with. If the sponsor is a vodka brand, they'd likely be less interested in that angle than a mobile carrier. 2. Sure, if you've got quotes that illustrate the motivation and/or meaning that drives your market segments, use them in the target markets section.

Good stuff! Would you ever consider submitting a video sponsorship proposal? If so, should you follow the same guidelines?
@PowerSponsorship5 жыл бұрын
No, don't do a video sponsorship proposal. 1. Not enough info; 2. Not customised enough, if at all; 3. Hard to sell in; 4. Looks try-hard. WORDS, mate. They need stuff they can easily discuss and reference.
