Becky, I’ve had my Dream Machine for 5 years & never realized I could do this!! It really would have come in handy last week, when I turned a *test out* or trial embroidery design into a pin cushion. I’m tempted to take it all apart, just to try this method!! You are a fantastic teacher, with clear concise instructions...LOVE you & your channel!!!

Thanks Becky, Long time viewer first time commenter. I followed your directions to background quilt around a drawing my grandson did that we stitched. I was going in circles until I watched your clear instructions. I am so very pleased with the results. Keep up the good work. I for one enjoy and learn a great deal from you. Heather From down under

Thank you! Thank you! I’ve been looking for a tutorial on how to scan and digitize a backgrounds design after embroidering a design. This is exactly what I was looking for! Yeah!

I love this. I will try to get a Luminaire XP3 today.. It is quite expensive, but seeing all you can do looks like it will be well worth it. Thank you so much for your wonderful, clear, step by step, explanation.

Fabulous!!! I've been moving in baby steps with my Solaris. Store classes are good but sometimes they cover too much information in a few hours and I am overloaded. Now I know I can do this. Thankyou!!!!

Wow! Thank you! This was just what I was looking for! Now I’ll try it and let you know how it worked. Can you do this on an entire quilt by hooping each block and using the eraser on the edges?
@ellenhofer33432 жыл бұрын
This is soooo cool. Tip: try a practice sample before doing it on your project. 😃

I think it is interesting that several fill patterns are the same as the Kimberbell background, I.e. chain link or chicken wire. I have been doing the Kimberbell background on the non-embroidered blocks. Very different from the embroidered ones. Thanks for inspiring me to work on this quilt. I wouldn’t be this far if I didn’t have you to encourage me.😄

Thank you, great video! I have some appliqued blocks without quilting and this video is what I needed! Can you please tell me where can I buy that lemonade design? Thanks
@mad_gar26723 жыл бұрын
Use the stamp button to bring in the design and you won’t have to erase anything. Either way works great.
@PowerToolsWithThread3 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I'll have to figure out how to do that. Thanks!
@mad_gar26723 жыл бұрын
@@PowerToolsWithThread you really do read all your comments. Love your videos. And to get you started...with design up in embroidery mode, edit to make a “stamp”. It saves a outline of design. Exit out and while in the design center, after making the square around the design, bring in the stamp you saved ( I think it looks like a flower button). The rest is the same. You’re right...this is why we bought these amazing machines! I love my luminaire.

So then will you do a quilt as you go method to attach each block?
@2Peachcobler3 жыл бұрын
This is very interesting to watch. I do not have brother sewing machine’s so it would not apply to mine. I would do this in my digitizing software.
@ellenhofer33432 жыл бұрын
Its in both Baby Lock & Brother machines going back a few models.
@Grannytimes5 Жыл бұрын
Loved the video. Apologies if already answered. Can I use the scan and erase method with a purchased end-to-end design (ie DBJJ) or only a built-in IQ Designer pattern?
@cabushka1003 жыл бұрын
I don’t have a Brother machine. Is it possible to do this using Embrilliance which would remove hidden stitches?
@PowerToolsWithThread3 жыл бұрын
No. You cannot do this process with Embrilliance.
@Peedee30303 жыл бұрын
For those that have not got this type of machine...could the quilting be done first as this would be the way I would do this and then all the applique and wording be done on top afterwards...just a suggestion
@PowerToolsWithThread3 жыл бұрын
It sure could! However, the machine does a double vs. a single stitch so you'll have a tiny bit heavier thread line than what you would download from Kimberbell.
@christinebaker59213 жыл бұрын
Dawn Thompson thank you for your question. I don’t have a new machine either so appreciate your question. I think I will order some of the KB quilting designs and just repeat them instead of buying the whole package.

Could sticky stabilizer be used instead of the tape?
@PowerToolsWithThread Жыл бұрын
I don't recommend sticky stabilizer instead of tape. You really need something to hold the top edge of the fabric down that will allow the foot to pass over the fabric without getting caught underneath.

Did you know Kimberbell has a free centering cross hair?
I was wondering if you could do cross stitch patern by coping what is on the fabric? Instead of needle work and sew by machine. I have a Destiny 2.
@poppy21222 жыл бұрын
Can this be done on any machine? I have the Innovis 1700. Thanks for your help
@PowerToolsWithThread2 жыл бұрын
I think you need a machine with a Design Center of some type in it. I'm not sure if the 1700 has that.

i can do this with my Dream machine 2 ??? or only on the luminaire??
@PowerToolsWithThread3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure. I know you have the scanning feature, but I don't know if the Dream will do the stippling around a design or only do it in a set pattern without the ability to erase. Take a look by following my steps and see if yours looks the same. Good luck!
