PowerVision S1 3 Axis SmartPhone Gimbal Will Make Audio Show Coverage Easier!

Okay, this is "off topic" but very cool compact about 1/2 pound gimbal for smart phone offered for review (I will buy it) so I said "why not"? Then I was invited to the Formula One in Abu Dhabi so I took it along to learn how to use it and document the trip.

It looks like it stabilizes the image while you are moving. That alone makes it so much better for the viewer. What a great gadget. A must have for an aspiring Director. 😎

That’s pretty cool. It’s similar to the gimbal that I have by Smove. Now the next, and more importantly, question is, What HiFi Show? It really sucks that there is no more RMAF. ☹️ I’ve seen you there many times over the years. Usually running around at 100 miles an hour! So, hopefully it’ll be AXPONA… 🤞🏼

The one thing, for me (and this may have NOTHING to do with the gimbal device) is the use of the wideangle lens as a default choice, Michael. It gives me a bit of a headache to watch through it due to the distortion of the image, even if slight. That may just be me. Also, I'm curious. Is this something that would allow you to be hands free, if needed? In other words, could you attach it to some sort of harness so you could be more or less hands free if you wanted to (Since the unit, as I understand you saying, allows for the focusing on a moving target)?

Why do I need a big camcorder when I can use this? Sums up the state of modern photography now really. I used to be a camera guy but my Leica these days sits gathering dust as for 99% of my photography I use my iPhone. Sure, the Leica has a better lens but I’m darned if these days looking at the computer or hard copy normal prints that are sent to me from online processing I can see any real difference and with gadgets like this it makes life even easier! I was going to pass on this video because why do I care about this ? But I was wrong. This gadget is pretty neat and keeps people from getting motion sick when watching your Vlogs. Very Cool. The Abu Dhabi footage looked pretty smooth. Fun Trip thanks for sharing .

Digital is not all bad! Video technology moving forward at a rapid pace. Watch out analog LPs? Silver discs and DSD - a renaissance in the future? Michael looks like he is running out of space in the basement to store all those big round heavy vinyl discs. Any vinyl clutter upstairs?
