Hi sir , how are you? Sir I did my masters in psychology in 2020 and open p.g diploma in guidance and counseling and I am currently in United Kingdom, If in future I want to pursue my career as a psychologist after 6-7 years then what option will there to practice as a clinical psychologist? And second question is if we are doing 7 years education to become a clinical psychologist then why it's for new generation converted to 6 years this looks like unfair to old students?

I believe usually hons are supposed to be for 4 yrs but my college provides it in 3yrs, with my current 1st yr juniors having the new 3+1 cormat. We will need further clarity on that from RCI. As per the Minutes, the students eligible are Science Streams or equivalent. We need more information on the same for the clarity

What about other fields , MA counseling psychology, applied psychology, will the person still need a bsc in psychology to become a psychologist in general. Is it like no arts students will ever be allowed to become a psychologist? What if I want to pursue PhD in psychology..... will it be still be needed to have bsc to do PhD in psychology?? Sometimes I feel like I did a mistake pursuing psychology..😔 This field will never be respected in india... no one will ecer give importance to humanities students...😔

It applies you too. You are currently in 2nd year right? That means, you will the be LAST batch to pass through this system. Just make sure you donot have any backlogs to be more safe.

​@@aamankhan7823 I disagree, the new batches have already started with the 3 year ba and 2 yrs ma course , the 3+1 system is not implemented in our juniors ( ug 1st year) . So they will be the last batch to be eligible for the old system

If you are in 12th then there still might be options to pursue Psychology via The Old Structure. I have a feel that more light would be shed on this to better help students from non psychology background to switch. It is just a hunch. Nonetheless, the document currently mentions only Science or equivalent stream

Hello ! There is no specific information on this. Considering the timeline of implementation these students would also be in the Old Structure, i.e., they will need to give MPhil in Clinical Psychology exams. Your 4 Year program is not curated to the BSC Clinical 4 Year program proposed by the committee.

You can give net exams at your master's level too....in order to get licence nd you want to practice as a clinical psychologist...you must have to pursue MPhil. In clinical psychology....
