My Ranger Raptor has the Raptor decal on the bedside and I want to keep it and do a PPF. In your experience, would removing the decal and reinstalling a new one on top of the PPF be a good idea?

I would remove the decal and install a new one over the ppf. If you install PPF over the decal, the silver line around the edge looks pretty bad, in my opinion. Next week's video is on the front bumper. I install the PPF and then trim around the stripes. Another great option if you don't want to replace the stripes. Remember that the decal over the PPF will need to be replaced if the film ever gets damaged or you decide to remove the PPF. Trimming around the decal can be a great option.

What would you say is the largest water bubble you'd allow to not risk distorting the film or need to pop it?

Maybe about the size of a pencil eraser. It depends more on how much water is in the bubble and how much longer I have the vehicle. I'll leave a silver dollar sized bubble if it's a thin layer of water. But I will want to see it dry out before the vehicle leaves my shop. If the car has to go home, the bubble probably needs to be removed first. 👍🏻

Anything without air will go away eventually, even a giant pool, distortion will happen if you disturb it

@n.o_w_a.k big water bubbles can dry and leave air pockets, especially if it dries fast in the sun.

Why wouldn’t you just PPF over them if it’s gloss film and gloss stickers 😂

It's very rare that we would cover the stripes with the same piece of PPF. PPF over the stripes leaves an ugly silver line along the stripes. Because of this (and the sample I showed the customer), he chose not to cover the stripes.

@seventysschev yes, it leaves a silver line where the PPF it's bridging the height gap between the paint and the vinyl stripe. It doesn't sound like much, but really looks bad. It's even worse on a black car. 👍🏻
