Buxtehude was a major influence on Bach and also on Handel, Telemann and Mattheson. Bach spent 3 months with him in Lubeck as a 20yr old but its a stretch to say that he was Bach's primary musical teacher. Bach came from an large extended family of court and church musicians and was the 3rd generation of such.
