Actually for the fastest way to level up First Aid (on Build 41) is to take of your shoes, break a window, and stand on broken glass. Keep picking out the broken glass with either a hand or tweezers. I get about 30exp per pick at level 3 with books. You're going to get deep wounds, so make sure you have a needle and a thread/suture needle. Didn't know doc school is on broken glass. Also dev, please don't nerf this.

+ Strength also heavily increases critical chance, which is different from straight up damage increase and more important in my opinion. + I don't know if it's just me, but L-Alt running gives me no exp. + Combat exp is the highest when you are in top shape and have no debuffing moodles (for example, even if you only have the first endurance moodle, you will receive ~3 times less exp); also (generally), the higher the damage the weapon has, the more exp it gives; plus, the most exp per single hit is given when you perform a critical or when you attack a zombie that is on the ground. + Maintenance exp is not earned when you lose durability, but when you hit things, and the longer you can hit things without your weapon and the thing you're hitting breaking the more efficient it is. For example, the most safe and easily achievable way to do this, is to get a decent amount of ripped sheets, then forage for materials, then create Stone Axes and Stone Hammers, then cut down some trees, then build Log Pillars and smash those with Stone Hammers, rinse and repeat. (Besides Stone Hammers, the best weapons to use are those that do the least damage to doors, for reference use my sheet here: www.reddit.com/r/projectzomboid/comments/mc6w4d/all_melee_weapon_stats_in_excel_sheet_damage/). + Higher levels of Carpentry also increase the repair percentage when using Wood Glue (and only Wood Glue) up to 75% with the first repair with level 7 Carpentry. The main use of Wood Glue is to repair Axes, so if you're into those you want it. ! 1 day??? Damn, I thought you can only do it once! You live, you learn. Thanks for that! + Keep in mind that with Tailoring, if you want to max out the protection, you will have to wear a lot of clothes, so you will overheat a lot. Running is definitely not recommended. Also it is very easy to level up, as long as you have all the books, Tailor trait and all the required materials (~300 ripped sheet and ~70 full threads, both of which you can get from ripping clothes). It is pretty grindy though. Also, you only need a single piece of clothing, I recommend Long Johns because it has the most slots for tailoring.

Sounds like the combat XP earned is similar to how firearms work...the XP earned is based on the damage dealt. High damage=more XP. That would explain the negative moodles affecting the XP gain, as it also (generally) decreases damage done (slower/weaker/less accurate/etc).

@@bobzeepl The 3 levels you start with isn't what people are after. It's the XP bonus you get from certain occupations.
@tacticability5213 жыл бұрын
@@EmbeddedWithin It really depends on your playstyle, your strengths and weaknesses, and really how you intend to play the game. There isn't really a "best" occupation and it can be really subjective which is why deciding the best ones are a really contentious issue. However, to surmise, in my opinion I'd say: *Unemployed:* Very versatile. You're only as limited by your point allocation, but you do miss out on some of the more job-exclusive traits. Otherwise a very safe choice, can't go wrong, pick if in doubt. That's a 4-6 starting point boost that can be put into lucky, keen hearing or fast learner. *Fire officer:* Unemployed, but you sacrifice your starting points for more fitness, strength and sprint stat. While this might give you more of an early-game advantage by letting you carry more, fight harder and for longer, these are stats that you can increase through the course of play regardless, and you may as well spend some of your unemployed points on the fit, stout or strong stat. *Police officer:* Kind of useless in my opinion. Aiming and reloading go up very fast anyway, and the gun stats and the 1 nimble isn't work the -4 starting points. Like all the occupations whose only benefit is increased starting combat/fitness stats, it's most effective at the beginning of the game but has diminishing returns long-term where you could have invested those points in a permanent trait increase. *Park ranger:* A lot of necessary constructions, items, tools and actions are locked behind having high non-combat stats. Park ranger is amazing because not only does it give you bonuses to forestry, trapping and carpentry, but also an invaluable speed boost when walking through foliage. This is invaluable for not only surviving in the wilderness, but letting you evade hordes by running through woodlands. A+ occupation. *Construction worker:* A mediocre blunt accuracy bonus and 1 carpentry for a punishing -2 starting points. I never pick this. *Security guard:* This one would be bad if it weren't for the night owl trait. Your working hours are dictated by your wakefulness. When you get the tired moodlet, you basically have to drop whatever it is you're doing. With the night owl and/or wakefulness trait, you can spend more time working, foraging, building, reading, exercising and fighting without having to return to base and go to sleep. *Carpenter:* The 3 carpentry is indispensible, needing only a short investment to bring you up to level 4 to get those invaluable rainwater collectors. All for the small price of 6 starting points. Very useful. *Burglar:* I only pick this for the hotwiring ability. It means that from the start you can obtain pretty much any vehicle on the map, as long as you have the materials. While not the best for its punishing -6 starting points, this is still a very useful trait. *Chef:* The 3 cooking and the trait is alright, but when cooking only pays off when you hit level 7 and can cook with rotten food, this isn't really that good when you can farm your cooking stat by using bugs. *Repairman:* Same problem as Chef, having a boost to a stat you were going to increase over the course of play when there are more valuable options at hand isn't worth the -6 points. *Farmer:* Same thing here. *Fisherman:* It's nice to have a small boost to the fishing stat, but it's overshadowed by the fishing traits and the far superior wilderness occupations. *Doctor and nurse:* First aid stat is useless when a night or two in bed will fix most cuts and bruises, and where one bite means death. Maybe slightly better when you're playing with saliva transmission only, but if you're injured it's a bad idea to go out anyway and a good excuse to stay indoors and exercise, read and tend to your safehouse. *Veteran:* Desensitised is an amazing trait. Removes panic from the game, but you become desensitised over time and I never really found panic that bad anyway. *Lumberjack:* Some people really like this trait, but I don't really see it worth it. Yes, you have a bonus to axes (Which some argue are the best weapons in the game) plus a watered down version of park ranger's foliage movespeed, but I'm with SPEAR GANG and can wait a little longer to fell a tree so I never pick this one. *Fitness instructor:* Yea, it's alright if you don't intend on exercising, but nutritionist is a useless trait and you may as well go for the fit/stout/strong trait for the 14(!) starting points you lose by picking this. *Burger flipper:* Kinda alright, actually. Get a small bonus to cooking and the cook trait for cheap, but there are better options. *Electrician:* Levelling electrical is a pain in the ass, but I always find generator guides no matter where I go, so that's never a problem for me. A matter of taste, hit or miss for me. Can be compared to carpentry, but electrical seems to be more of a luxury where carpentry is a vital survival skill. *Engineer:* I never use aerosol bombs or traps or any of the other engineer recipes, and while 1 in electrical and carpentry is okay, you're better of speccing in either electrician or carpenter. *Metalworker and Mechanic:* I think there are better occupations to pick. Like most mediocre occupations, you're shooting yourself in the foot not by picking a "bad" occupation, but rather by picking one where better options exist.

Great video man! I got a note of warning to add on disassembling furniture in your world to increase your skill: If you keep track of when things respawn in your world, do not take apart furniture that has a chance to spawn the loot you are either gunning for or desire (that is, until you got it. Purely a situational thing). If your playing the vanilla game, furniture does NOT respawn. If playing online and they do have respawn furniture, omit this whole thing. :) For me, at this moment, I'm trying to bulk up on Concrete Powder and Plaster at the Lumber Warehouse east of Rosewood. The Wooden Crates have been amazing for loot in everything but what I need desperately haha. (you take the main, big highway road northeast of the Rosewoods gas station and head southeast). Without ranting, how I've leveled my Carpentry up was disassembling everything that can be disassembled for Carpentry. This includes: -End Tables (All Tables really) -Doors -Beds (big points) -Chairs -Church Pews (big points) -Low Tables where TVs sit on top of (You will have to pick those TVs up and put them on the floor if you want the table, highly recommend saving TVs until you've read Electrician Skill Books. Same goes with Carpentry Skill Books before doing any disassembling if you can swing it) -Turning Logs into Planks (most sustainable way to lvl imo) -Ttc (might be more thats the meat and potatoes of it) Wooden Crates in select areas spawn a specific type of loot given their location. Learned Warehouses in the middle of a number of Farm Fields usually nets alot of Rotten Food, perfect to stock up your composter with to help boost those potato yeilds in your farm before Winter arrives! Don't wish to make a novel but those were some tidbits I learned from my current run. :)

Just dropping this here, but your cooking level does help beyond just allowing you to make rotten food into meals. higher cooking levels influence how much benefit you get from cooking custom meals like roast veggies and other mish-mash dishes you put together, increasing hunger gain and increasing the caloric value slightly as well as possibly decreasing cook time slightly.

@@Pr1vateLime yeah you'll notice the biggest difference with foods you can cook twice like raw meats or anything that says (uncooked). Nimble actually climbing fences dont level it up, and from my excessive testing it dont affect chance for tripping (huge chance of tripping no matter your skill is when you are winded). Other things: nimble sprint and sneak (if there is zeds) can be leveled up by walking in place against wall/window. Maintence can be cheesed with hitting log walls (cheapest with highest hp, best to use is blunts like police baton or metal pipe both damage only 1 to walls). Spears are 100% durability at level 3 carpentry Cooking gives nothing outside of level 7, literally no benefits in hunger reduction or stres. First aid is easiest to level up with only one cheese step ;) you can level it to max in 3-4 days. Overall not very usefull skill because only benefits it gives: bonus to your healing (each healing have timer set you get just bonus start to it) longer lasting bandages (0 vs 10 actually make huge difference nearly 5 x times longer last before they became bloodied) On some higher skill you can see how severe is scratch but that dont give you that much info (its literally saying "severe" if its bleeding new scratch) Electronic - about generators its not worth leveling up because each scrap have base 5% repair value already max electronic worth is 3 because its gives you to possibility to move some specific furniture Metalwork - disasseeambling dont use fuel in your torch worth noting Mechanic - gives you bonus to repairing parts mostly noticeable on engine parts Tailoring - you didnt pointed out that you can full repair clothes at level 8 Aiming- is kinda stupid because with level you deal more damage and faster aim, some weapons have lower base aim chance but higher aim gain from skills but from level alone you dont need to use these because you deal insane damage with 9mm already and its most common weapon. On high level its monster of skill. Oh and you can shoot faster with higher levels very noticeable with glock when you test 0 vs 10 Foraging- you level up by finding stuff but not quality but amount and highest amount you get its from medical stuff. I hope that will give you some new insight because for me It did, didnt know that aiming actually levels up from damage! :D

About leveling first aid: sewing wounds, and removing glass shards give a lot of XP, so the set up with the broken window is good. i usually take off my shoes, and walk through the broken glass on the ground for instant deep wounds on the foots. After taking care of the wounds i climb through the broken window until i have 4wounds on arms and hands. (move the broken glass on another spot so that you don't step on it, by climbing through the window) All you need is a needle and thread (surture needles are too rare, and you get thread by ripping clothing), also bandages/ripped sheets and a water supply for cleaning them. Tweezers are good to have, but optional. Also disinfectant, it is enough to disinfect a wound only when it is infected. Maybe my character hates me, but she has FIrst Aid on level 7. She is still alive, so i think the torture will go on until she mastered it. Thanks for explaining how "Nimble" works didn't know that yet.

update, you can actually level tailoring by removing patches, too. so that makes it a bit easier, just put on and remove patches

You get Maintenance exp whenever a weapon/tool you use doesn't use exp. Fighting with a crowbar (1/70 chance to lose durability by default) is fantastic! And spears, terrible. Speaking of spears, their durability is strange. It's equal to Carpentry + 0/1/2 at random, but cannot go below 2 or above 5.

A very simple way to level up first aid is by standing on broken glass and repeatedly removing glass with tweezers until the desired level. You cannot die from it, just make sure you can stitch yourself back up

Training Nimble is no joke. What’s probably going to do my character in on this play through is a deep bleeding wound he got on his arm when manteling over a picket fence. It’s been infected twice and I keep having to apply bandages, it’s been about two weeks because I can’t find any sutures.

I wonder if when they decide to add bows (and maybe crossbows) to the game if they will have their own category or if they will use what is already in the game... considering bows at least would use an entirely different skillset than guns in how they work... and would probably cause lots of tiredness using them constantly (which could make up for them being silent)
@Pr1vateLime3 жыл бұрын
I think they would definitely use their own skillset, shooting instinctually with a bow is nothing like shooting with a gun. It will probably be slow as hell and require a lot of concentration for balancing
@arcanumelite48533 жыл бұрын
@@Pr1vateLime maybe at the lower levels... but a skilled archer can shoot arrows pretty quickly... its more about the strength and stamina required to keep firing thats really the problem.
@arcanumelite48533 жыл бұрын
@Aluzky yes we know.. hunting and animals will be added BEFORE NPCs...
@EnycmaPie2 жыл бұрын
A silent ranged weapon would be great. Maybe higher levels give you chance that arrows don't break so you can pick up arrows from the zombies and reuse the arrows.

It's really easy to lvl up First Aid. Once you have a base, build or find a fence, take off all your clothes and sprint back and forth over the fence. There are plenty of other safe ways to lvl up First aid without aggroing zomboids

... it was then he turned around and exclaimed dryly "Oh, the census taker is finally here." He looks you over intently. He seemed somewhat displeased, as though you were chopped liver before adding " I was wondering what I was going to pair with the fava beans and that nice Chianti." As he had done so it appeared as though he were peering through you, no into you and it felt as though your was stomach unsettled. It's almost as though it were moving in an effort to avoid his all consuming intense gaze.

Been watching some of your series, but what I want to see you do is a character that starts with lvl 7 strength and fitness. 3 points in "long blunt" and some sort of building skill and farming. I then want you to base up in a rural area and go minecraft mode. Make a fortress with a large garden/farm and take trips to the towns to clear and loot. Should always try to stand ground and make use of your strength stat. If you like this idea and decide to do it, can you name the character "Rufus Gainsmore"?
