Adv. Sai Deepak, Pranams. I am a practising sanathana Dharmi and I want guidance for a few causes...would be obliged if you could help me with your e-mail Id or any other details, by which I can seek your guidance. 2. Please guide me as to how there is no contradiction between the preamble (India being a Secular state) and Art 28, 29 & 30, with regard to minority rights...while the constitution in its original form didn't have the word "SECULAR" in the preamble, and so the Art. 28, 29 & 30 had a role with regard to protecting minority rights and my opinion is that post amendment to the Preamble, Art 28 to 30 should not find its place, being at loggerheads with the preamble, which is the soul / heart of the constitution. Regards.

AM Bhat I think I did not make myself clear. I do follow what Sai Deepak and his team are doing. I have only admiration and gratitude for them. I am amazed at how aware, courageous and proactive these youngsters are. I am also trying to help on whatever little way I can. My intent was to say that there are lakhs, even millions who want to do something, but 99.99 percent of us do not know where or how even to begin let alone go about it. We do not have a common meeting place and time where we all are bound to be at a certain day and time, so that large numbers of our own people can get the same information, instructions, etc. Over the years our confidence that each one of us can work alone has been lost. To find others in contactable distance with similar objectives is difficult. Even those who are willing to take on an issue, give up after sometime due to the huge toll it takes on time and resources. We just need to think of a way that will address these obstacles .

Great speech.Small correction. End goal of Hindu Dharma is moksha, liberation, not salvation. Salvation is a very Christian concept which claims that man is a sinner who needs to be saved and can only be saved by a particular person--Jesus. We Hindus need not be saved because we are not tainted by original sin.
@RajeshKothariMumbai6 жыл бұрын
Actually it is even beyond Moksha (Liberation) it strives for Self/God Realisation. There is a vast difference between Liberation and Self Realisation.

One sincere question. What is the root cause of suffering as per Hinduism. Example in the judeo Christian faith it’s rebellion against God and ,Adam choosing to live apart from God that caused sin and hence death and sickness are its consequence
@MrDillbud6 жыл бұрын
You are right Harapriya. Moksha and Nirvana cannot be replaced with the word salvation. We have to correct ourselves as an awakening Dhaarmic Samudaay, and refuse to translate the non-translatables, as Sri Rajiv Malhotraji suggests... It's a part of our de-colonization process... Our Summum bonum is to awaken from our chir-coma-nidra of colonized state of slavish existence and re-learn to live Vibrant life as individuals as well as a a Dhaarmic society . Vande Maataram

MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT THE HINDU FAITH (SANATANA) I have seen many people having misconceptions about The Hindu faith ( the Santana) being very narrow minded and intolerant. Though, I am not a scholar, nor I have studied the scriptures, I am very clear about certain things like tolerance and inclusiveness. In the long past I have heard elders sayings prayers routinely before every meal, later, these were said before ceremonial feasts by a priest or a group of priests. The prayers included one that I remember, "Aano bhadra kratavo yantu vishatah". May noble ideas come from all over the universe. This is an invitation and welcome, not just tolerance. The underlying belief is, noble ideas exist everywhere in the universe ( and not just in my book/s). Nobody was killed for having a different belief or philosophy. There was a tradition of shastrartha, a scholarly debate. Even those who disputed the existence of God, or nastikas were not killed or excommunicated or punished. Charwak said, "Rinam kritwa gritam pivet, yavat jeevat sukham labhet." Live it up and enjoy all pleasures as long as you live. Borrow money and drink ghee.(implying, when your creditors come to collect money, show them the strength you have gained by drinking ghee with their money). He did not believe in God, punarjanma, theory of karma and results of punya and paap, heaven and hell. Even he was not killed but accepted as a philosopher. These explain a vital aspect of the Santana. However, that doesn't mean we should allow destructive forces to destroy us and the humanity. It is incumbent upon us to counter such destructive forces. At the end of a kirtana, the pujari says, "Dharma kaa". Everyone says Kalyan ho, Adharm kaa, Nash ho. Here, Dharma is not a specific religion, it is the path of righteousness. Likewise, Praniyo mein sadbhawana ho. Not just humans, but all living beings. Vishwa kaa - Kalyan ho, this wish is not for just people of a certain faith, not even for just humans but for everything that comprises the universe, all the living beings, humans, animals and plant life, not just on earth but in the entire universe. Do we have any other religion that thinks like this. I think this can be a part of a global sentiment and be on the UN logo. No one can have a problem with it. Satyamev Jayate, Asato ma satgamaya, Mrityorma amritamgamaya, Tamaso ma jyotirgamaya. These too have a universal appeal and are perfectly secular. No religion can have a problem with this. These can be made a part of logo of relevant UN agencies like WHO(mrityorma....), UNICEF(Tamaso ....), ICJ(Satyamev......), etc. If UN can recognize yoga, there can be no problem with these, only we have to express ourselves well and say, it is a part of philosophy ( and not religion). To me, an intolerant Hindu, is an oxymoron. Open mindedness is the foundation. History bears it out. Parsees came here about a thousand years back. They are a miniscule minority. They have never complained. The British while leaving, offered citizenship to them saying, you may not be safe here. Parsees told them, We have been safe here for a thousand years. The Jews have lived here safely. After Israel came into existence, the first resolution of their parliament was, India is the only country where Jews have not been persecuted. Gen. Jacob was offered Israeli citizenship. He said he would prefer to stay back. India is the only country where all the sects of Islam are living in harmony. The second oldest mosque of Islam is in Kerala. Long before the invaders came, Arab traders used to come to Kerala. The king gave them the land to build a mosque so that the Muslim traders could pray. This was the way of life. Miniscule minorities numbering a hundred thousand have never complained but 200 millions who can't even be called a minority as they are second largest majority are complaining of intolerance. It stinks.
