Great tips to help the back. I keep a small heating pad on the back of the chair so I can lean back on it to allow my muscles to relax before walking around. It really helps with my stiffness.

I have the Bob Ross pops figure to lol. You’ve given me some ideas here and reminded me to take care of my back . I have sore lower back and my arms and hands get achy lately no matter what I’m doing . If I’m using my arms and hands they get sore these days . Getting older is not fun lolol . Ok well it’s still fun lol … especially since I have more time to do arts and diy’s / crafts etc. I feel happy and at peace when I’m doing art . Thank you Jason . Your teachings are doing more than you know for people . I truly feel art is my therapy . And I can express all the beauty I see in the world rather than focusing on the draining sad stuff like …. The news lol .

This is wonderful! I have a KZbin set up in my bedroom but it works great. I love your art wall and it makes perfect sense. So many of us keep our art in a portfolio hidden from sight. Your chair with the ductaped pillow is like my headphones. I must have a small head because every set of headphones is huge on me on the smallest setting, so I have to ductape paper in the head rest so It doesn't fall under my ears and hurt my jaw. If it works, it works

Your artwork is incredible of course, but right now I am thanking you for the arm rest idea. Not so much for myself as an artist although it will be good for me too, but for my husband who has als and is unable to hold both his arms up while he uses the computer. The right arm I help him lift onto the desk top and the left sits in his lap, but sometimes it falls. Though we have tried arm/shoulder slings he does not find them comfortable. I think this will work great! So thank you.

I was surprised when I seen that you hung your art work on your wall because I just finished doing the same with mine.😊 I needed to see them around me. I thought why should they stay in my portfolio and not enjoyed, so I made copies of each one and hung the copies up and protected the originals. I also love the foam board idea for hanging pastel drawings . Mine are just laying flat in drawers side by side and I’m quickly running out of space . I think I can probably store them in an album with those sheets between them that come in the packet of pastelmat papers ?? ( I’m not sure) but a combination of worrying about them getting messed up and just not having or taking the time to do it has me just letting them lay out everywhere until I found a cheap set of drawers at the thrift shop . My cat likes to walk on things lol so had to find a place for my art .

I have to sit in a recliner, because I have stage 4 kidney disease and my feet will swell if they're hanging down. Then I use a lap table and I have a 4 compartment zippered bag right beside me that I have all my pencils organized together and in any empty zippered pallets, Putty, sanding pads etc...

I have back pain while doing my artwork as well, I found that if I put two tennis balls in a sock and roll by mid and lower back over this, it helps hit the pressure points and where I had not been painting for years, I have been enjoying doing my artwork once more.

Thank you so much. I was beginning to think that I was going to have to give up my art. As a type 1 diabetic with severe eye damage, I work too often with my head down. Consequently i have back issues similar to what you speak about for yourself. I was advised that if I could develop a loose style of painting, my back would be better, but I need detail. My ability to do pastel came to me when I already had lost a lot of my periferal vision so no I do not want to give up my love of detail. In spite of what I lost, I have gained so much in other ways because now I really do see.

I loved the tour! I have to ask, do you ever stand up too quick and bonk your head on the sloped areas? My husband and I are building a new house and there is a bonus room that has the same set up. I told him he could have that area because I would constantly be bonking myself on the ceiling. 😅

Paper is most important. Get matt photo quality paper 👌

I was just reading some reviews on the printer model and they were saying the ink is constantly running out, so maybe expensive to do. I have an HP now and they have a program where you just pay four bucks a month and they automatically send you the ink cartridges. I love that set up, but I’m not getting the prints that I want. Just wondering if you noticed that about it going through ink quickly and being expensive to keep up with that.
