Keep up the GREAT VIDS!!! I've owned my FT-60 for years and this is the first time that I have learned how to program it. Hoping you can put your vids out daily!!! Truly helpful for a beginner!!!

Some points to clarify, you abolutely can use a standard analogue radio to trasmit and receive encrypted comms, but it's text only. Think FT8 (with a digirig), and a baofeng, you would then need an additional layer to handle the encryption and decryption of text (you could always do this manually, that would be a PIA).

Hi Scott, judging from the intelligence coming out ukr, digital comms is definitely NOT the way forward. Sticking to analogue and using brevity is. You may want to rethink this one my friend :-)

I am surprised and a little dismayed. Encrypted coms can be easily achieved over traditional analog channels via use of one time pads. They are practically unbreakable, inexpensive, require no additional technology... If I am forced to encrypt coms thats the route i am going, low tech and effective.

Useful for stations that are static and have the ability to sit and decrypt the messages. But not practical when you're on foot patrolling with a group. If I need a person to cover a corner half a block away while I move, no one has time to get their pencils out. But, having said that, one-time pads are indispensable for coding of long-range strategic analog HF radio communications. But that is more of an advanced topic. This series is crafted more towards short range small unit tactical communications.
