That's typically how I make suits. I start with tail and hand paws, then head, and then I made feet, then arm and leg sleeves. I usually wear t-shirts and skirts with that character, so that's all I need. I've seen some really cool suits where there are zippers in the body so you can turn it into a partial, or a fullsuit and not have to worry about parts sliding around, and I might try that for my next suit.

I'm making a Lucario suit, and my tail is about 2 feet long, and straight out. That's when you really need a handler with you. I'm not sure when I'll be able to go to a con with this suit, but I'm going to make sure I have a friend to watch me and help guide me around things. I did make finger escapes in my hand paws so I can always grab the tail and pull it to my side if I need to.

I saw a really cool Wolf-Link quad suit once, sadly didn't stay in touch with the suiter, but she was awesome, really enjoyed the little time we had together. Definitely not my ideal though, I don't do very well on all fours. Been considering suiting myself, but my budget just doesn't extend that far ^^;;; Inu-sama (or possibly Dash now) isn't particularly active now, but it's enjoyable seeing people still make an effort, The number of suiters who bother to come up to my neck of the woods (so to speak) is really small =(

I'm not new to the fandom (a little over a year of experience), but I am an incredibly new suiter. I've had my suit for around a month now, and I would DEFINETLY encourage a practical suit. While fullsuits with puffy paws and humongous tails may look awesome, they probably won't feel awesome. I got a pre-made suit from Etsy (The creator is called PawYeah, please check them out! They are an amazing, underrated maker.) The suit is a corgi named Winter, and he is amazing. First off, he is a mini partial, which I 100% recommend to younger or newer suiters. Heck, they're even amazing for experienced suiters! (If you are younger, please get a mini partial. You'll outgrow a body suit. Just a lil' tip for some newer people!) His tail is very small and compact, which I adore about him. It never gets in the way. He has a big, goofy, open mouth, and big eyes, which make for great ventilation. His ears are small, which makes the head a lot easier to move around. He does have four-fingered puffy paws with fur pads and claws, though. While they look amazing, and I applaud the creator for making such great paws, they are incredibly hard to use. I've tried grabbing food, toys, paper, etc., and it is honestly hilarious. I would recommend five-fingered paws, or paws with those slits for your fingers. One last thing. Trust me when I say it gets HOT in there. Literally three minutes of running around in that thing and you're already sweating bullets. Anything to help you cool down I recommend FULLY. I hope this helps!

I would have LOVED a cool vest when I was suiting for 6.5 hrs straight (including dancing under stage lights, prejudging, and masquerade) at a convention! 😭 I highly reccomend one of the reservoir backpacks with a tube to drink from, or even just the reservoir itself, put into an insulated bag! I took one to the con and it was a GAME CHANGER! The cool backpack felt great and I filled the reservoir with ice, which gradually melted to provide a constant source of cool water, just a drinking noodle away! Plus, since I used just the water pouch and a separate cool bag, I also had snacks and an emergency ice pack handy! It also had external pockets for phone, wallet, business cards, etc! All the size of a small/medium backpack! I think the bag is intended to hold about 6-8 standard 16 fl oz water bottles on the inside for hiking, but it works perfectly for fursuiting!

Tip for drinking in fursuit: a Camelbak water backpack or similar backpack with a water bladder. They have long straws that come right out of the backpack so you don't even need to take a water bottle out - just stick the straw through your jaw and stay hydrated! I used one at my last con (rip cons ;-;) and it worked great.

I also had a pretty good idea for drinking water in a suit, maybe having a water pack/bladder similar to the ones people used when hiking! You won't have to use hands etc, but having a small plush clip inside that you can drink water from!

Another great backpack for easy access to water is a camel backpack!! It has a water compartment in it with a long rubber sucky-thing that you can easily access in your suit without having to take the bag off when you need water! It also has enough storage space for all your essentials (wallet, cards, keys, etc.) while maintaining a flat look, so it's not as clunky as satchel or drawstring bags :)

Tip Aquarium airline tubing can be used as a super flexible and reusable fursuit straw! you can easily just weave It inside your head so you can drink whenever you want without breaking the magic

After seeing those escape paws, I might have to make me a pair because that's better idea than what I had when I made my original paws, saw something a while back in outdoor article about stitching some wire into a glove's finger tips to make them touch compatible so I stitched some conductive wire into my paws... it did not work as well as I would have hoped.

I can relate to this as a fursuiter myself. And even though I enjoy your videos including this bottle episode, you could’ve mention the logistics of going fursuiting. Like as in weather to go to fursuit outing by car vs public transport and wearing a fursuit traveling to outings vs change as you arrive as I think this needs to be addressed for future fursuiters. As a suiter myself, I would also rather go on fursuit outings by car when I can be able rather than by bus or train but thank you for addressing the struggles we have in suit.

So my 1st time suiting(was also my 1st furcon) I was in a partial, I have little to none heat tolerance but wearing a Hydration Pack ( I wear them at rens and other cons) helped a lot. I had a handler but I rigged mine so I could pull the "straw" flip the little switch and shove it in my mouth to drink. course the cold water turns room temp pretty quick but it was great for the in between trips to the headless lounge or a watering station... Pro tip: if you want the look of a full suit but don't wanna be too hot/don't have the money you can totally but a custom kigurumi!! Very nice looking and comfy it's bassically just a furry onsie
