My mom said I used to mirror write my sentences as a kid. I'm not just talking about a couple letters, I mean the entire paper would be in mirror writing. The teachers were shocked that I could easily write my full paper in mirror writing and were also concerned I had dyslexia. My mom waved it off as normal, but my teacher had informed her this was actually rare that I could easily mirror write. I am not dyslexic by the way, I have no problem reading, and even as an adult I can still mirror write if I wanted too. Obviously, I do it normally, but it is still very easy for me to mirror write and takes not a lot of thought to do it for fun. I think this can be very useful, especially when writing notes and what note if you don't want anyone to know what you are saying.

I've never met anyone who could do that, but I have heard similar stories. Are you left handed by chance? Sometimes I hear left hand students will write mirror image because they'll mirror what they see right hand persons do. I agree, it is quite fun having a secret notebook of mirror writing, just like da Vinci.
@daydream10664 жыл бұрын
@@DieyenDualPen Yup, I'm a lefty, which is why when I mirror write is feels almost natural doing it. So while I'm mirror writing, I'm actually writing "normally" like how the right handed person does it. It's neat that my hand doesn't smudge my letters, pens glide with easy and I'm not fighting to get ink out of some pens, and my hand isn't covering the sentence, I can see what I'm writing. Plus I can have my own secret letters haha. To me when I mirror write, you are simply flipping your letter the other direction. Some are even easier like "p" and "q" and "b" and "d" because you already write them to mirror one another anyway. The only letter I have to stop a second for is "y" but even then it's not really hard. It's fun mirror writing! I can't wait to ask my other lefty friends if they can do it naturally too :D

@@daydream1066 yep that's right. You should try learning to write forward with your right hand now :)

@@DieyenDualPen I can write with my right hand too, just not well haha. You could read it and it looks okay but it feels awkward. Sometimes for fun I will write with both at once, now that's pretty cool to do! When I do play around with my right hand, it's very interesting to see that this is how 90% of the world writes, even though it feels so unnatural haha.

I’ve been practicing mirror writing for the past several months and I’m also a lefty. It feels so freeing lol. Like, this is what “normal” ppl feel like to when they write. I have found its helped my normal cursive writing. I feel the pen flowing better then before. I typically right in non cursive because its hard to write cursive and it looks better. With mirror writing my cursive looks a hell of a lot better.

I always knew I was wired a bit differently that others. I can to this easily with both hands at the same time, or just one hand at a time. I don't know why I can see it so easily in my head. I started life left-handed, then discovered that the letters of the English language were designed by a right-dominant handed culture...so I taught myself to write with my right hand...discovered how much easier it is to form those letters right-handed...and from there, the "flip" to mirroring was just natural. Leonardo daVinci did this to hide his secrets. Great video...nice to know there are others like me!

I found out today that this is actually a thing and decided to search it up. I did this few times in primary school and my head master sat next to me and used a small mirror then ask me to read a book with the mirror and I could do it very easily I also have touch of dyslexia so I just wonder if that had anything to do with it ?
@DieyenDualPen4 жыл бұрын
I too wonder. I've heard that writing in cursive helps with dyslexia because the slant in the writing prevent the brain from flipping characters. Mirror writing cam quicker to me than writing. I also know someone now who converts all his digital books to mirror image and reads them that way. I know because he asked me to send him a mirrored version of my book. Lol

Not strange at all, simply what your brain was accustomed to. There have been many cultural examples where "normal" and mirror writing was used regularly.
