Based on this lesson and another of the pianote channel (I don't remember which one), I have found the perfect exercise off-keyboard! I tap 16 beats with the left hand (1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2,1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2) and 8 beats with the right hand (1,-,2,-,3,-,4,-,5,-,4,-,3,-,2,-). I started at 10 rpm, 16/16 and it was already tough (I am a beginner). But I improved so quickly! Of course try to switch hands also (8 beats with left and 16 beats with right)

@Pianote Thanks for this! I took piano lessons decades ago in middle school and high school, and I still play today sometimes. I've lost a lot, though, and I'm trying to get back to, as closely as possible, the level I was at all those years ago (I was probably a high level intermediate player then; definitely more advanced than a beginner, but nowhere near as good as even many of my fellow "amateur" piano players). I have a long way to go, but exercises like these will allow me to improve even when I'm not near a piano. Wish I'd have thought of this years ago!

Thanks for this video!! Actually I am a professional piano college student, and the funny thing is, when I really want to practice my piano well something unexpected happens and I had to stop practicing:( like for today. However, when I am not motivated to do so, nothing unexpected happens, and I was still lazy to even practice. I am frustrated about how my attitude is to the piano. I really want to be more devoted into practicing the piano and mastering my pieces and be more passionate about music....this might be a good idea to practice without a piano when something unexpected happens, like for tdy~ I would really like to treat my piano as a friend/partner and practice it for my own musical development

Hi Dona!! Yes it's there :) All the KZbin videos are released much earlier on the website - usually about a month earlier. This one is in the Quick Tips Section of Student Focus with the title: "How To Practice The Piano Away From The Piano". It was posted May 11th. (Sometimes we change the title for KZbin) There are some good comments for this video, including a way to make random patterns to practice your finger independence :) Thanks so much for being a Pianote member!!!

I have a question about the 500 songs in 5 days plan 1.So is there a tutorial for each song or is it just sheets ? 2. Is it like a per month thing or like forever ?
@PianoteOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Hi Eva I'm so sorry this comment got caught up in a KZbin filter, so I didn't see it! Here are your answers: 1. There is not a tutorial for every song. The lessons will teach you how to play CHORDS that you can use to play every song. Plus every song comes with a chord chart and lyrics! 2. It's yours forever. One payment and lifetime access. I hope that helps answer your questions, and again I'm so sorry it took so long to reply.

l really like your videos they are really helpful, l hope once quarantine ends and my bussines resumes it's normal rythm, l can take your paid course, in the meantime l'd really appretiate if you can help me with some advise regarding my practice, l'm a begginer and l've reach an impass, it turns that reagarding long streched chords, my fingers are small and there are some chords for me that turns practice into torture like C7, thanks in advance if you can share some technique to overcome this challenge, best regards Enrique from El Salvador
@PianoteOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Hi Enrique! I have small hands too! For 7th chords I love playing them in an inversion. So I take the top note (the 7th) and play it BELOW the root note. So a C7 chord would now be Bb-C-E-G. We have a writeup on it in this blog post: www.pianote.com/blog/small-hands/

I actually thought I could get away with a piano simulator android app boy was I wrong. I just didn't want to spend the money on a cheap 61 key keyboard I eventually found a company that makes a 88 key semi weighted digital piano for a really really good price. I got the Alesis recital 88-key digital piano it's only $299 for what you can spend on a cheap 61 key you may as well spend a little more to get a full 88
@PianoteOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Ooh I've heard good things about Alesis! That sounds like a really great price as well.
@stephenbayer094 жыл бұрын
@@PianoteOfficial yes they primarily make great sound equipment. I found out of probably any other brand that makes digital piano's Alesis I find makes good quality as well as good priced digital pianos that are very affordable for beginners. The Standard Recital 88-key isn't the only low price model they have I seen that there concert 88-key for a hundred dollars more and I think they give a sustain pedal with it I think its just the cheap block style sustain pedal but hey for $399 cant complain about the price and I think the Recital 88 key Pro version is only $500 for a next step up.
