thank you for the video, however it would've been really helpful, if step by step shown for the last part calculation. Would be great help for new beginners.

@@colesherborne3631 well you have to do it in steps. First you cube 2.09 since it has a 3 indice. Then you times that by 4.26. Now since this value on the right is being divided by nh3 as it is on the bottom, you have to times it on both sides to cancel it out. So you times that value by 0.006. Hope that helps!

That is asked for when discussing Equilibrium. It is strictly NOT the stoichiometry coefficient when referring to Kinetics equations! I hope that helped :) Google coefficients for equilibrium vs Kinetics and it should explain better than I did!

what if the NH had a power of 3? you cant square root it
@begrateful98363 жыл бұрын
Cube root it?
@noemi593jd2 Жыл бұрын
That cannot happen as it would unbalance the equation for that chemical reaction. This means that if there is 3NH3, N2 and H2 have to change their coefficients (only if possible, because 3NH3 is not a reasonable result as it will be hard to equal the number of moles per atom from the reactants (N2 and H2) with the number of moles per atom of the product (in this case as you mentioned, 3NH3). However, if there was a chemical reaction with a product with a coefficient of 3, it will be cubed. And as a result, when trying to find the concentration of a product, at the end of the calculation when the product we want to know is at the left and the concentrations of the reactants are on the right, we have to eliminate the exponent of the product, 3. So, to do that, cube root the result of the multiplication of the concentration of the reactants, and that's it. Hope it answered your question

@stephanierose87083 жыл бұрын
thanks! your video helped me with my hw, but you didn't explain why you have to get the square root of the answer?
@noemi593jd2 Жыл бұрын
Actually is simpler than it seems. When solving for x, you try to get rid of all the rest to reach a result. In this case, when calculating the NH3, we know that it has 2 as its exponent because there are two moles of NH3. Back to the problem, 0.0600 is at the left of the equation, but in order to find NH3, 0.0600 is multiplied on both sides to eliminate it from the left, while also moving (NH3)2 to the left. Now, the equation looks like this: (NH3)2 = (0.0600)(4.26)(9.13). 9.13 is the result of (2.09)3 by the way. Now, to remove the exponent of NH3, both sides are square-rooted. After multiplying the concentrations of the reactants and square rooting the result, it will give you 1.53. Hope it answered your question.
