Hey, I am wondering if you could make a video for young musicians in high school, who don't really know what we should practice right now if we want to become a professional musician. Thanks!!!

I also prefer to use a metronome/tuner! My first middle school band director use to say "If you fail to prepare, you're preparing to fail" It would be cool if you did a video on performance anxiety😃

Sit down moments before you go on Stage. Close one of your nostrils and breath slowly in with the other nostril. Then close that nostril and breath out with the other. Then breath in with that one .. and continue in this manner. Do it say - 6 times. You should be more relaxed after this. I always got some of my musicians to do this before going on Stage.

Hi!!! I'm a violinist and I found your channel this week and I'm in love with. This video about studying is very interesting, PLEASE make a part II, III, IV, V and thousands more haha!! It's really useful although I play the violin. It would be nice to see a video on Jeremias in this topic too. Congratulations!

Would love to hear your technique schedule. I struggle a lot with working on technique and never feel like I'm accomplishing a whole lot... I think I just need more of a plan and structure to my practice for this but would be awesome to hear what you have to say since I'm currently without a teacher for the time being.

As you suggest in this video, I would love it if you could talk us through your technique regime - I'm always looking for different ways of tackling this! Keepup the great work! Claire :)

Hi Katie! LOVED this video! I was wondering if you could possibly do a topic on how to deal/overcome pain when playing flute. I struggle with tendinitis and cubital tunnel syndrome, which is mostly gone, but I would love if you could explain maybe some things to keep in mind or do differently when playing, to avoid pain? Thanks!🙆🏼💅🏼
@kiaraeijo7 жыл бұрын
Scott Quirk I would suggest giving yourself five minute breaks during practice sessions and to alleviate hand pain I would suggest soaking your hands with warm water and epsom salt😃Hope this helps
@scottquirky7 жыл бұрын
I've never heard of the water and salt! thanks so much!

Scott Quirk No problem! I use it when my hands tense up. I don't have tendinitis nor carpal tunnel but I have a lot of tension in my right hand 😃

I have always wanted to play strings (i play all of the band instruments) but the strings have just eluded me....I just can't do it.....the violin KILLS my shoulder ...very painful, but i think I could do the cello since it sits in front of you....however as expensive as they are ....that's a problem. I have given sax lessons in the past and teaching my husband the clarinet along with a friend....it's so much fun to teach!!! When they get it right it's a thrill for them AND myself!!

Wondering about your thoughts on this, which was a quote from Ken Andrews: "If you can play COMPLETELY musically within the confines of a metronome, you have arrived." (caveat: the metronome can be set at 1 beat per measure). This worked SO well for me with the Hanson Serenade.... but what do you think?

I don't think three hours a day is practical for most working people.

for the regular person, no its not. music majors/music performance, its almost the standard if you wanna get good
@julierocketqueen62573 жыл бұрын
Unlikely that a working adult has 3 hours a day to spare for practice. This video is pretty obviously aimed at professional musicians, people in conservatory/college studying music, or school aged kids who want to get into music conservatory etc.
