I come to your channel when I'm feeling overwhelmed by "stuff" or the feeling of wanting more or when I just need a moment to stop and be still. Social media is so often about showing new or exciting things so I really value your day to day tiny micro habits. This is what our lives are filled with 💛

❤❤❤ this Madisun! I was a teacher for over 30 years and what you say about children/families is essential. I spent more time “de stressing” and retraining children in the classroom to get back to ground zero so they could flourish as their unique self. Keep on speaking out for the “simple life” because that is where our richest selves develop.

Ugh I miss the days of not having a phone with me at all times. I love how you are so down to earth and so relatable. You don't talk of how easy slow living is and make viewers feel like idiots. You struggle too and you always make sure to point that out. Bless you! ❤❤❤

I love the setting the table tip! To expand on that, setting the table and the mood (candles, place mats, etc) makes it a warm/inviting place that you WANT to spend more time in and not rush out of.

I don’t even have kids, but I love the idea of putting plates and cups where the kids can reach them. Why don’t all families do this? It is a brilliant idea, and I’m happy you dared to share it! ❤

You are wise beyond your years. As a mom of three grown sons there are many things I would do different if I could go back. I’m only learning now the importance of slowing down although I was at home it just seemed there was always something I needed to do, one of the ways I like to slow down is to watch dishes by hand. You can’t rush through it. It takes all of my focus and it really grounds me.

Baby smushhhh! He’s so cute! Loved all these tips. We moved our 4 year olds cups and plates a year ago and it’s been amazing! He can pour his own snacks onto his place, fill up his own water etc. sometimes he goes “can you grab me water” once we’ve all sat down and sometimes I say yes but sometimes it’s so great to say “nope, you do it you’ve got the skill to do so!” Also incorporating kiddo chores helps with slower pace for me also. My 4 year old takes the dog to pee and then feeds him and then unloads the silverware in dish washer and it’s so nice to romanticize my life as we do it together and set the intention of the day!

I agree 💯, Madisun! You are amazing and have such a beautiful family! We all need to appreciate the simple things in life. I have been trying to get my family on board with this lifestyle. My goal as a mom is to make home a heaven on earth for my family and that means embracing the little things in our life, spending time with our family, creating a simplified home, not being a slave to our debt. You are way ahead of most people!

I would LOVE to hear more about the way you set up your environment so your kids/family can live a peaceful, slow life too. Love the idea of moving their plates and cups to their levels.

I agree so much. This time we have is precious and before we know it, it’ll be gone. And where we go after that, all we will have is us, our knowledge and love, and those we love.

I spend an average of maybe an hour a day on my phone in total. I have a thing that tells me every week how much time I spent on it. I remember life before cell phones and it was easy for me to live without one, so I know I could do it again (didn't even get one until I was 21 - and it was a flip phone I barely touched). I am glad you take time away from technology to spend with your children and family. It is wonderful. You are doing a great job raising them and living life. I am proud of you. You are beautiful! Hope you were able to move the cups and such.

Madison, thank you so much for your videos. I wish I had found you sooner. I feel like I rushed through so much when my children were babies. I have a 2 and 4 year old and I feel like so much was missed because I was trying to live up to the image of being a “perfect”mom. I was addicted to everything social media had to say about parenting. I know I can’t get that time back but I am trying really hard to slow down now and just enjoy my little ones. Madisun, you have helped me so much. Thank you again💜

Madisun, thank you for your videos. I've just watched this one and one on how to live a low stress life. Ive been on my slowing down trajectory for the past few years now and slow living vlogs have really helped me but i also wanted to say i completely agree with what you say about creating space in your mind allows u to see things more clearly and to get into your flow. The more space i give myself the more i see what is really important to me. I look at my job for example and noticed how much multi tasking and how much i have too much on my plate and its made my mind so frazzled and since ive tried to slow down my home and work life im alowly trying to create more space for myself to actually give my mind a rest more and allow myself to be more present and less stressed so i can enjoy life more. It's a work in progress always but i am so glad to have been led to slow living x

I didn’t figure this out until I had my second baby, but I used to fill her sippy cups with water, milk and juice and put them on a low shelf in the fridge so she could get out what she wanted when she wanted it. And I limited her juice intake. She knew when her 2 cups of Watered down juice were gone that was all the juice she got for the day. She drank a lot more water this way as well because she could get it herself

Question- is the fall downloadable magazine new? I bought the seasonal guide last year in autumn and didn't want to re-buy if it was the same. Absolutely love this video! Gorgeously shot and such great tips. Would love if you did an updated Xmas gifts for the kids video this year...the geodes was such a great recommendation! I do my best to be in the moment as much as possible. I love the mini habits you suggested.
@MadisunGray21 күн бұрын
Hey Caitlin! Thanks for your comment 🫶🏽 the autumn guide is an updated edition with new recipes and a few other things but you get lifetime access to it when you buy it! So just check your receipt email and download the new version! So glad you’ve enjoyed it! 🙌🏽 Re Christmas gift ideas: I would love to do another video this year, thanks for the encouragement… just trying to think of how to do it to encourage parents to buy less rather than yet another list of “minimalist things” if that makes sense! Thanks for supporting the channel! Xo

My pleasure. Thank you for creating what you do. I totally understand your thoughts. I think where how I see it is that you are helping create intentionality by being purposeful and selective. Not even just the physical items but thinking of experiences to gift. Oh I have an idea. You can do something like putting the meaning back into the holidays. Like what it used to mean to be meaningful instead of attaching gifts to the meaning.

More of these videos! I was just telling my husband that I want to be an "enjoy the journey" person, a slow living person. However, we are highly productive people and work manageable, but hectic, jobs. It feels like a joke for me to say I want to live slow. However, we do live on property in a more rural area and avoid some modern day practices that pack schedules tighter. This video makes me feel seen that I am allowed to aspire to live slow but maintain some great productivity in my week.
