Boring? It's not the most extravagant scent, but it's far from boring. It's unique for sure. That alone should make it unboring. When this came out, it was revolutionary. You said it yourself, not a lot of iris fragrances aimed for men existed then and even now. So we may be blinded to it as a masterpiece nowadays because it may be a victim of its own success. But there is nothing else out there that smells like Prada l'homme so that alone should make it un-boring. Of course this is IMO.

Very late to replying to this, but yes, fair point. Both L’homme & Intense are brilliant, almost timeless mens fragrances and perhaps saying they ‘could’ be boring to some is the wrong way of describing them. I think overall the scent profile of both is quite linear and the clean, soapy character they both share might become less interesting if they are worn daily as a signature scent. That’s what I was trying to say. In the designer market there isn’t much else like these and I do think they are great at what they are trying to achieve!

Think I'll stick to the regular Prada L'Homme. I have other sweet iris faves and I want something that's more fresh and casual. The floral notes are well blended with the spices and woods, and give a unique Cola-like scent. It's clean and inviting, can't go wrong! I'll still give the Intense a try when I come across it.

I never been complimented with the Intense, but with original L’homme…I’ve been noticed a lot in my work.🤷🏻. I find it too light to attract attention though, but it does, I’m surprised. I’m using my 3rd bottle now

I have to disagree on the interchangeability of the two. I agree with your final analysis though. For me, LHI is darker, more formal, and a cold weather scent. LH is like a freshie, its a warm weather scent. While LH can do almost everything LHI does, the same cannot be said for LHI. You cant wear LHI to the gym, or to the beach. A person that is a fan of the lhomme line should probably own both imho. For me, I have LHI because like you, I find it more interesting and I have always gravitated towards darker scents. A summer fresh fragrance that smells clean and is super versatile and office friendly for me is a dime a dozen. I have tons of those already.

I've been exploring Prada L'homme Intense and wondering apbout the leather note. I am very particular about leather notes in fragrances. For Armani Code Absolu and the gold edition I make an exception bc they are done so well. That's the closest I get to purchasing leather-forward fragrances. I'm a fan of Prada L'homme, Luna Rossa Sport, and Ocean EDP. But the mixed reviews about Prada L'homme Intense's leather note have me hesitant. Some say the leather is well-blended and barely noticeable, others don't even mention it, still others rave about the dark leather. I am totally fine with sandalwood. I wonder if some reviewers aren't familiar with the difference between sandalwood and leather. I'm thinking about blind buying Prada L'homme Intense. Worth it? How prominent is the leather note?

I think if you like the original Prada L’homme, there is every chance you will like this. I don’t think the leather note is too harsh but it’s definitely and more intense fragrance than the original. It’s always best to sample these fragrances before purchasing - my tastes could be wholly different to yours and fragrances are very subjective

I don't smell any leather in Prada L'Homme Intense. If it's there, it's barely noticeable. By the way, I don't like Prada l'Homme Intense, but I like Prada L'Homme.

@@kurzfassungwelt I just got my decant earlier. Prada L'homme Intense isn't strongly leather-focused, but it has a subtle leather-like earthiness. It differs from fragrances like PDM Godolfin or TF Ombre Leather where leather is the spotlight. The fragrance is powdery, vanillic, and ambery with a depth to it that is reminiscent of leather. Similar to Prada Luna Rossa Black, it is a very earthy, resinous, and cozy smell that I like but I don't consider mass appealing. Through the development of the fragrance, the "leather" note never takes over as the lead and I consider the notes to be well blended. As a collector of fragrances, I'd rate it 7.5, maybe 8, out of 10, though I still prefer the original Prada L'homme. They're distinctly different enough to own both if you are into both of them. Something like JPG Scandal Le Parfum is comparable to PLI for usage but it has no leather and is more mass appealing in my opinion.
