Oh my, you're triggering my PTSD now lol. Pride of Nations was essentially unplayable. I really tried, as it did some really cool things, but I found myself having to read a book while playing because the AI turns took so damn long.

I think Kingdoms is better than Empire, other than the longer AI turn times.

Regarding randomization: Trying France I got 5 sons and daughters in one run and a single one in another.
@PraetorianHiJynx4 ай бұрын
Yeah not that you said something, I do recall having a few addition children. However, all of my eldest children, my brother, my uncles, and several of the other nobles are the same characters in the 3 separate starts. They have the same name, look, skills, and traits. So it seems that some of the characters are created by hand while others are randomized.
@Trifler5004 ай бұрын
I play Shadow Empire. The turn times can take a while, especially since I check the "Give AI More Time To Think" option (which makes it make fewer mistakes). Often I Alt+Tab and watch KZbin for a minute while the turn processes. Total War games also have long turn times after the early game.
@PraetorianHiJynx4 ай бұрын
Yeah everyone has different tolerances for long turn times. I don't have much time to game these days outside of recording, so I generally don't like spending my limited time waiting on the AI lol.

FOG:M has same units as FOG:K, and you don't need the DLCs for FOG:M to get access to all units in battle when you port out from FOG:K.
@PraetorianHiJynx4 ай бұрын
I was only speaking about Empire and FOG2, where there were a few units that weren't in both. There was also some army effects that weren't accounted for on the FOG2 battlefield. I also don't have FOG:M, only FOG2.

Is there overflow for growth and production? civ didn't have it until 4 i think and just thinking of going around to every province to optimally assign pops looks super tedious
@PraetorianHiJynx4 ай бұрын
Each region can stockpile food and infrastructure, which can be applied to any of the provinces in the region. You don't really need to micromanage your pops unless you want to, as each region can be set to focus on certain things (such as growth).

I really wish companies made games like these that were not historical. i love these type of games but getting tired of them all being historical. I just want a fun grand strategy.
@PraetorianHiJynx4 ай бұрын
Yeah I can't think of any grand strategy games that aren't historical. However, there are quite a few 4X strategy games that are in the fantasy realm, such as Age of Wonders 4, Fantasy General II, and Endless Legend. Then there's the Total Warhammer games, which are kind of in their own category. There's a also a lot of more tactical focused games outside of historical settings. And there's quite a few sci-fi strategy games. But yeah, all of these might not be what you're looking for.

Yeah, I could definitely see a game like this on a procedurally generated planet.

Just install either CK2 or CK3 and download total conversion mods. There are elder scrolls, skyrim, warhammer and other verses made by fans. And even without those, ck doesn't even follow much patterns of historical events other than the scripted events for major figures from real life
@LudoTechWorld4 ай бұрын
You can look at Great House of Calderia, which seems to be a CK like but in a fictional world. It has mixed review though and I didn't try it myself so I can't tell more but it has a demo for you to try.

Good job I will probably will get KIngdoms. My rig (home built) is probably equal to it. If not, it's time to build a new PC! Problem is that to get good AI takes some computer cycles. So lotta memory, fast storage and powerful cpu.

Yeah I like what they've done with the graphics overall, still very familiar to Empires, but with some nice changes. Thus far my only issue with the game is the time between turns.

Well we didn't declare war in this first episode. We could have, but I wanted to wait until our authority was higher. It would have helped if I had been decreasing relations with Normandy, as that makes it more likely we get a claim on one of their provinces.
