What a Fabulous Instrument. It has one of the Best sounding Regals I've ever heard! What an impressive Stop List! This is what Organs were meant to sound like! I hope to see this Organ in person one day!

This is the Compenius organ located at Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerod, Denmark. This historic and exceptional instrument is the work of Esaias Compenius, built in 1610 for the Hessian castle in Wolfenbüttel. The organ was given to Christian IV for the castle of Frederiksborg in 1617, it had been designed with the advice of his friend Michael Praetrorius, who himself came to install it at the castle. In 1791 the organ was transferred from Frederiksborg Castle to Frederiksberg Church in Copenhagen. This gesture saved the instrument from destruction: indeed, on December 17, 1859, the castle was destroyed by a gigantic fire. After the reconstruction of the castle, the organ was brought back to the very place where it was in 1617. This is where visitors to the castle can admire and listen to it today.

J'aime tellement.
