My biggest dream is to visit Prague around Christmas time. I’m from NY where we do Christmas pretty big every year and it’s a more glamorous, luxurious, with a hint of traditional for our Christmas but I’ve always wanted to visited Eastern Europe for the holidays. I think because Europe in general is so old and the architecture was built way before America became “America”, or at last before is was “discovered” that it gives off this medieval, fairytale vibe. The architecture of the castles in particular especially when they’re decorated for Christmas like the Prague castle or even the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg Russia….it all gives off such classical, medieval, fairytale but royalty vibes. In a way it’s like the Disney Princesses but more elegant and grand.

It is truly so magical. It was so high on my bucket list and I’m glad I finally got to go.

This is not Eastern Europe, but Central Europe. Russia is Eastern Europe and St. Petersburg was not founded in the Middle Ages, but only in the 18th century. You will not find old buildings there.

@Prometheus101 yes, i found it very interesting because my US-based tour group even called the tour I booked “eastern europe highlights” but the local guides immediately corrected that when we arrived. I blame our education system. 😅

@@Speightsworldmy information was that the funicular was out of service. Maybe there are 2 different funicular. Where on the city can I take that one that is working? I am going to be there in December 4th. Thanks in advance

I believe there is only one funicular up Petrin park’s hill. Looks like it is closed now until 2026. :(

Hi, nice vlog, but you might check your information - the first pub is Lokal, not U Medvidku, and the river that flows through Prague is Vltava, not Danube (thats the river that flows though Vienna or Bratislava, far from Prague).

Ooops! Thanks for the correct. I couldn’t remember some of the locations as you can see. :)

Also, the 'castle' you were showing is actually the St. Vitus Cathedral within the Prague Castle complex. The whole thing is the castle. By some metrics, it's the largest medieval castle complex in the world.

Great video! We are planning to visit the Prague Christmas market this year. Could you please let me know if carrying cash is mandatory? Do most shops at the Christmas market accept cash?
@Speightsworld27 күн бұрын
Not mandatory but recommended. A lot of the christmas market shops prefer cash, but most will accept card.

Hey girl where is your off white jacket from?
@SpeightsworldАй бұрын
The snow puffer jacket? It’s Marc Anthony brand in the color Beige. I have it under “Favorite Travel Clothes” in my storefront (in video bio). :)
