Great video - looks like you both enjoyed yourself :-) Hladinka is the preferred Czech way of pouring a beer. A lot of thick creamy foam which is there to protect the beer. And the beer comes with little carbonation, which makes it very sessionable. The Czech can pour their pale lager beers in 4 different ways - Hladinka style is by far the most popular one. Yes, Urquell has quite high bitterness, but this beer is for many of us simply the best in the world. When the beer comes from tank, it means it is not pasteurized, which makes it even more fresh. When I'm in Prague, which is quite often, I try to drink in tankove pubs. The dark Kozel beer you had is one of the most popular dark beers in Czech. And by the way, the handle of the beer glass is there to be used, if not your hand will increase the temperature of the glass and beer more than necessarily. And we don't want that :-) Sorry for being picky. Keep up your good youtube video work.

Thanks so much for all this info 😊 Sounds like you really know a lot about beer, so your picky-ness is totally understandable 😉 Marek was in his element trying all these different beers and I'm sure he would love to relive this day!

(5:07) You get the goulash with original Bohemian dumplings. Lucky you. Bohemian dumplings are made from yeast dough and cooked in steam over boiling water. Since the dough in a cloth napkin has the shape of a roll, they are also called napkin dumplings. They need a lot of sauce. - Cheers- Heinz Btw: The Plsner Urquell: This was tje first beer brewed iin the kind of Pils. A Bavarian brew master created it, he used more hops for the Pilsner water, causing the little bitter taste. The Czechs now have their own hop-growing area, which produces the bitter hops required for the Piils.

9:11 i don't think the name of the beer is "hladinka", the name of draught beer in this pub( or rather name of the town the beer is from as is common in Czechia) is "Svijany". Hladinka in Czech means something akin to "level" and when used in connection with beer its one of the ways how beer can be served, and "hladinka" generally just means its gonna be large beer( typically half a litre) with healthy amount of foam on top of it, just the way how most of Czechs likes it.

Tank beer means the brewery comes and fills up the tanks and then the pint comes straight out of the tank so it isn't pasteurized and stuff (I think). So basically its a fresh as the beer can possibly be!

Poppy seed is very popular here. But for extreme quantities like this strudel, or sprinkling on sweet dumplings, there's a mixed opinion due its distinctive flavor. Somebody is lover and other detractor. But just about everyone loves a few grains on the pastry.

@SarahandMarek3 жыл бұрын
Hey Mickyfrank, thank you so much for the question! 😄 So from our experience being there, the only time that we were required to wear a mask was on public transport. We were never asked to show a proof of vaccination or a test or anything so all in all, at that time, it was very relaxed regarding restrictions. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask 🥳 but as you know, restrictions are constantly changing so the best would be to confirm with the Czech authorities directly 🙂

Love this! 😆 we definitely did not even scratch the surface in terms of the Czech cuisine but that gives us even more motivation to do another food tour sometime 😋 in terms of vegetarian options, we were not specifically on the lookout for it but just from what we saw, most of the dishes put emphasis on the meat but we are pretty confident that there will be a wide variety of vegetarian options available throughout the city 🙂 thank you so much for watching! 🥳

Hladinka, best way to serve a beer. The head protects the beer. You can wonder about it, when it lasts and creates rings on the glass. A beer with a creamy hladinka head, what a sight.

(9:11) Maybe a Budweiser beer? The other fampus Czech beer? This has nothing to do with American Budweiser.Sorry, this industrially produced beer is an insult to all beer connoisseurs in the world. If you got a Czech Budweiser it has a more malty taste, not so bitter than Pilsner- - Cheers, Heinz

Hasn't anyone noticed that the ratings keep going up as you drink more beer? Maybe this beer review is correlated more to intoxication. You will need to go back and re-review the establishments in reverse order to confirm (or refute) your initial findings.
