Praia da Rocha is a beach and built up area on the Atlantic Ocean in the southern section of the concelho of Portimão, Algarve, southern Portugal. On the eastern edge of the beach stands the Fort of Santa Catarina. A 17th century fortress built to defend the mouth of the Arade River.
Join us for a ambient walk down Avenida Tomás Cabreira which is the main street through the resort of Praia Da Rocha and sits just behind the pristine beach.

I was there in september 1995. It was stil very hot. Beach has almost no shade. Water was 16 C. So not really ideal for swimming. I see that local fake gold and hashish trafickers are still in business. I guess early spring and late autumn are best time to visit.

Yes, they certainly are. Our first visit was in 1994 and we've returned several times. This was the hottest Easter we've experienced reaching 29' some days but mostly staying at a pleasant low to mid 20s, Thanks for stopping by and for taking the time to leave a comment.
