Hi Amy. Just want you to know how much kindness you show. I’m a senior citizen and live in Denver, CO USA. I fell on ice after our last blizzard and shattered my shoulder. I got a shiny new one. The pain has been.......not a walk in the park. I have been binging on your videos, saving ideas for when I can use my right hand again. I get lost in your wonderful coloring to your fantastic technics. Just a thank you now. When I’m able, a hand made card of thanks.

Those are beautiful cards! I saw a video recently where a crafter spread a fine coat of liquid adhesive all across the back of her vellum, so that it didn't show. Wish I could remember more.
@PrairiePaperandInk Жыл бұрын
I've done that - and I don't like it. Vellum curls horribly with liquid adhesives and I find it finicky and frustrating but other makers have had great results adhering it that way

Rewatching this video, I just got my kit a couple of days ago. I wasn't putting the blending solution down first, and my results though pretty weren't quite like you had shown. Your videos are so great, now I will do better. Tfs
@PrairiePaperandInk5 жыл бұрын
definitely experiment - it's interesting to see all the different results with them using blending solution, not using it, using a felt applicator etc etc etc - even using the exact same technique ends up with different results lol!

Very pretty love the way it reacted on the glitter paper. I will have to try this. I have worked with the inks before but not on paper , We did them on egg art but love the way they colors float on paper will try this as well. Not sure what type of paper except everyone says yopo paper . If you have any suggestions please let me know. TFS have a great day.
@PrairiePaperandInk5 жыл бұрын
yupo paper is the best with alcohol inks - other papers and surfaces work you just don't get the same results

SOOOO pretty!!!! I just ordered mine!!... missed out on the last one, but hey it happens. Hoping that the mixative is the key for the pearls...I have 1 & it just blobs & doesn't move, but I was adding on top of regular alcohol inks &rubbing alcohol didn't work.
@PrairiePaperandInk5 жыл бұрын
rubbing alcohol doesn't move alcohol inks around like the blending solution does - I highly highly recommend the blending solution (and since that little bottle comes in the kit you'll see what I mean) :)

Beautiful cards, Amy! You make me want to try alcohol inks again. I'm weird in that the simplest things, I just can't wrap my head around and become such a pain. And I found out that I really need to be careful with the heat tool. My misadventures with alcohol inks and Yupo look like tie-dyed cauliflower. lol
@kiwipommiegirl2 жыл бұрын
I'm like you Janine, the simplest things just aren't at all simple to me! I have trouble getting straight lines when I cut too, with all the trimmers, special rulers etc, that I have. It's very frustrating isn't it!

Both beautiful cards. Thanks for sharing your tips - great tutorial. One question..... is there much difference between the sparkly yupo cardstock or normal yupo cardstock if you are using the Alcohol Pearls? I couldn't see much difference between them. Aren't the Alcohol Pearls shimmery enough as they are??

I love how every once in a while you bust out a canadianism, or at least some regional phrases. This video it was supper, which I think is more common in the prairies: we pretty much all say dinner on the west coast. Also, the card is gorgeous
