Hello Angel, it was a pleasure watching your Praise dance choreography video. Thank you. I am a dancer who have been out of the loop for a while because Life happened. But now more focused on my work in the Kingdom. Although I have always been committed to the gospel of Christ, and believe like you our old school hems is where the anointing started from in praise and worship. I'm a praise dance and teacher/choreography,,,, for my solo dance I meditate the song make it personal feel how it relates to me and let the holy spirit give me my moves, secondly teaching a dance i meditate the song and focus on the dancers and visualize which one to do what part if a solo part is there, then i just flow with the atmosphere of the music and lyrics as it all comes together. But however i agree with some of what you said, but we all teach different., It's ALL GOOD... Thanks for sharing. Be Blessed!

Thanks Angela, I agree that there is (sadly) waaay much....oh so much monotony in dance praise/worship. I have avoided participation for many years because to this. Due to the fact that I am now assisting with training our young dancers, I need to get deeper into choreography myself so I appreciate your valuable tips.

Angie did you choreograph those steps just for that dance? Also the piece had a lot of talking upfront. What should normally be done at that time? Or, should the words be muted just before the music?

Good morning C! First of all let me start off by saying that I am in no way offended by what you said and appreciate your comments and views. I see no harm in discussing ones view or perspective on any subject as long as it's respectful and that's what you've been, so thank you do much. My FOCUS for Praise dance tutorial is to (A)help leaders apply scriptures to praise dancing ministry , (B) teach leaders about what dance ministry is and (c) prevent mundane dance movements by teaching creative choreography 1 If you are chosen, ANOINTED to be a praise dance minister then yes, God will move you to freely flow in movement. With that said that does not NEGATE US FROM BEING PREPARED! Preparation: to prepare: To make ready beforehand for a specific purpose, as for an event or occasion. I find it fascinating that preachers and muscians and praise and worship teams are required to study, rehearse and practice but when it comes to dance, were suppose to just pick a song, a pretty dress and dance before The Lord? Why is it a problem for dancers to rehearse and practice MOVEMENT to a song God placed on there heart? Why is it an abomination to PREPARE WITH choreography and rehearse. 2. I totally agree with you when you say there are just something's that can't be taught. While i CAN teach you the mechanics and actions of PRAISE, I can't teach you how to WORSHIP! I CAN NOT teach you how to speak on tongues. The only thing I can do is give a template on how to DEVELOP a relationship with God! That begins with prayer, and then going to scriptures and studying who God is. In order to be in a relationship with any one or thing you must take out the time and get to know them. Far too many leaders and dancers are putting on pretty garments, saying mundane prayers over dancers to have a "great performance", and dance to popular music. My question is do they know who God is and what they are dancing for? Are they dancing because of emotions or DO THEY HAVE A INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD? 3. Creative choreography, rehearsing MOVEMENT is my method of preventing stagnation. if God gives me a movement, and I'm worshiping him in that moment, then why can't I take what he gave me and perfect it to His Glory? Structured movement, under the guidance of the Lord, is a blessing and not a curse! I as a professional dancer do not see this as a bad thing. It's a good discipline to have but MEANS NOTHING if prayer and the word God is not added to it. My Goal, My Focus is to help dance leaders to develop and establish a foundation and intimate relationship with Christ before they minister. Having a calling placed on your heart is just the beginning. This is my opinion and what I was called to do. To help those who want to have a deeper, richer personal Worship experience from God and an effective ministry that God can look at and say well done! My ministry ain't for everybody and that's okay! It's just for those who desire to have structure in their ministry and what to learn choreography. I pray for your daughter and nieces to exceed and have abundant blessings where ever they go!

From my understanding praise dancing is something that's in your heart if you are anointed by God he will give you the movement and it Wil flow freely I've. Never heard of a tutorial on praise dancing So with that being said you can teach a person how too shout, Praise , speak in tongues???? I mean I'm just saying my Daughters and Neice been doing it for years and God has elevated them to a whole other Level some things you can't. Teach they are gifts We are losing the real focus Don't mean too be offensive but I'm speaking from my heart and what Gods placed there

ceareabeamon There is a difference between praise dance and the ministry of dance. So what you are saying is out of context. I don't know your daughter or neice or know what they do. But there is a difference.
