Brought tears to my eyes because I remember when deacons were filled with God's Spirit and prayed like this. Just anybody could not be a deacon. He had to be set aside and taught his duties to God and the Church and then the Pastor and seasoned deacons would lay hands on him and pray over him. Unfortunately today it's more about pats on the back than true holiness. Humbleness in prayer is what we need in church.

This brought me back 50years ago when our church made 100 years old. We dressed and sang old songs that day. This was when we still had benches and wooden floors. The service used to rock from the heels on the floor. They still make candidates for baptism sit on the moaners bench.

I love this type of old good Gospel music.. It is not no other music can match it. It made me cry. I grew up around this kind of old gospel. My Daddy was a Baptist Preacher. So I know he taught us the love and works of God, though these kind of songs.🙏✝️❤️😥

So many these days don't know about the way elders would pray in church back in the day. I learned a lot from listening to those old deacons in church. If kids acted up in church back then; the ushers or elders would straighten them up and tell the parents and they got it again at home, if not in church. Things have truly changed from the ole time way.

I had the opportunity to visit a Church in NY which conducts a service like this once a year so that the younger generation gets to experience what it was like back in the days in the black Southern Churchs. I really enjoyed it and people were also dressed the part.

Hallelujah!🤭🤭🤭 God speaks and speaks through signs dreams and visions.🕊️ I live in SF, CA now but I use to live in the AUC (MLK/ASHBY, Beckwith, Palmetto, Lena Streets) 1991-93 & 2005.
