Where do you get the miniature valves and other parts? I'm an instrumentation tech and I work on boilers. The main one I work on is 150mmbtu. Quite a bit bigger but still the same.

Not just for the sound, though. Idling your steam engine removes condensed water from the system, which can cause damage to the cylinder during operation. It also gives the engine time to warm up, which makes the metal expand and the lubricant to enter the chamber, giving seals a tighter fit and better performance.
