Prashar Lake | Hilux | Scorpio N | Car Camping with

After I was done with my Shinku La Winter Snowdrive Expedition which was organised by ‪@DCVExpeditions‬ , I decided to stay for some more time in the Mountains. I initially planned a solo trip to somewhere around Barot Valley.
Then, I got a call from Manoj (he owns the channel ‪@raldang‬ ) , who lives in Palampur, which comes in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. We talked and planned to try camping near Rishi Prashar Lake which is located in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.
I already had my Sleeping Bag, Air Bed (inflatable bed), a few Camping equipment and some food stuff (Coffee, Cold Coffee, Tea, Maggi etc) in the Car when I was coming for the Expedition. This is because I had already planned for a solo camping (only if possible) somewhere. His wife and his friend also joined for this trip. I was lucky that I was joined by them because it was my very first experience of camping, but these guys already had Camping experience. So, it was really helpful for me to do this trip. Although, the company was so good that nowhere I felt that I was doing a group camping or I was doing a solo camping and I got to experience the best of both.
When we reached the Ground (possibly a Helipad) near Prashar Lake, the Snowfall had already started. The Snow was already too much and I got my Car stuck at the corner while going down in the Ground. Manoj and Abhinav helped getting the Car out quickly and then we just rushed to setting up the Tents and Tarp. We could not visit the Temple as it was already late in the evening and we had to setup our Shelter. We parked our Vehicles in L-shape so that the Wind gets blocked at least from one side. Manoj had already brought the firewood from his home so there was no delay in setting up the bonfire. At the dinner time, he cooked Fried Rice for all of us and then later on, I made Coffee for all.
Then we kept on talking until midnight and then we decided to go for sleep. I started my Car for a quick Cold start (although it was not required) as well as for inflating Air into the Air Bed that I was going to use for sleeping inside the Car. After getting inside the Sleeping bag on the middle row of my Car, I slighly opened the Windows for ventilation and locked my Car from inside. To be honest, the first hour was not good because ventilation was not good. I didn't take the risk as I felt like fainting multiple time and I quickly opened the window slightly more. Then, after proper ventilation, I got a good night sleep.
Next morning, it was way too windy, but anyway, it was a good morning for us all. Everything was chilling. We got out and planned for a small bonfire as it was too cold. Unfortunately, we could not find proper wood for the fire. So, we just continued. Soon, the wind stopped and we were able to cook our Breakfast. After the breakfast, we cleaned the place from any sort of garbage and started rolling.
As soon as we tried to hit the corner to go upwards towards the main road which goes to Prashar Lake, the offroading adventure started. Watch the video for the feel.
As soon as we got out of the adventure, we trekked and visited the Temple and Lake. After that, we went for another small meal in a local dhaba there. After that, we planned to go back to our own destinations, i.e, Palampur for my friends and Barot Valley for me.
It was really an amazing experience for me as I was doing such thing for the very first time and that too, in Snowfall with some amazing company of people.

Bro, I normally get at least 16-17kmpl on Highways on Good Speeds... I have also seen mileage going upto 19kmpl on Average Speeds... On Mountains, if driven decently, I get around 13kmpl... When driving a little fast, it drops to around 11kmpl... Kindly Note: This is Manual Transmission Diesel. I've heard that people get less Mileage on Automatic cars..

I have also driven Automatic variant. As per my observation, if you'll drive the Automatic decently (not harsh driving or sudden pedal acceleration), then you'll also get decent mileage on it...
