Sir, are routeing charts published every year? Or what is the frequency of republished?

Sir, Routeing charts are not published every year. Whenever they are published, it will be shown well in advance in the charts to be published section, and will also be shown in the new charts published and available section in the NTM. The Chart catalogue will show you the current edition and, if you have internet access, the list of charts in force can be downloaded from Admiralty website for every week. How many wind roses are there on a routeing chart ?? How often they appear like for change in lat long ?

It depends on the area sir. They are provided as an average for that area (lat / long) which helps in easier identification of wind occurance and speed at that point. Regards ❤️

Why do we need later one if we keep former ones on board.. one more question.. do we always keep small scale charts on board in case of emergency??

How are the routeing charts updated by admiralty and where does this update come?

Sir, if there is any update, it will automatically come in the NTM. Also, a weekly chart list is provided in the admiralty website with present edition charts. Again, cumulative notice as well as the chart catalogue gives you the valid Routeing chart numbers. Regards ♥️

Sir, Thank you for the words of encouragement. Now, ROUTEING charts are basically charts that have tons of historical data that they compiled to give us an idea of what weather factors are generally happening at that place during a certain month of the year. This is not a prediction. Its just a compilation of past events. Wx Charts are basically charts that are giving us a prediction for the next few hours or days with observation through satellites or weather stations. What we receive on a Wx Facsimile is a Wx Chart. Surface prognosis, analysis and all those types of charts. Hope I could clarify the terms. Wx - Weather.

How to find ice limits?

Sir, in general, it is provided as marks on Routing charts. But, to get a better update, you can take service from ice service provider, and also all weather synopsis and prognosis charts for surface weather will show the current limit of ice. The international ice patrol normally gives the limits of last seen ice and its rate and speed of travel. I hope you got a good understanding. Regards ❤️
