যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের গণ্ডি পেরিয়ে দিল্লি বিশকবিদ্যালয়ে স্নাতকোত্তর স্তরে ভর্তি হয়ে পূর্ণাভ UPSC পরীক্ষার প্রস্তুতি নিতে থাকেন। কিন্তু প্রথম ২ বার prelims round, এবং তৃতীয়বার mains round অবধি পৌঁছেও ব্যর্থ হওয়ায় হতাশা গ্রাস করে তাঁকে। তবু, অদম্য মনের জোরে নিজের জানপ্রাণ লড়িয়ে আবার পরীক্ষার প্রস্তুতি নেন পূর্ণাভ এবং চতুর্থবার অবশেষে সফল হন UPSC-তে।

From a very mediocre, average student to a UPSC officer - the success story of Purnava Ganguly is a collage of hard work, discipline and determination. After completing graduation from Jadavpur University Purnava took admission in Delhi university for his post-graduation and started preparing for UPSC examination. However, after failing at prelims round at first 2 times and at mains round at the third time, he was engulfed in depression. But, with unbreakable will-power, he again prepared for UPSC examination with all his blood and sweat and at last succeeded at his fourth attempt.
On Josh Talks’ stage, Purnava Ganguly’s talk leaves an example for us as how an average, mediocre student can crack UPSC examination only with determination.

This is just like my own journey to become a civil servant. I cleared WBCS in 2018 and selected as dy.sp. I am ANIRBAN MAZUMDAR. I also prepared myself while continuing my service at Hyderabad. I appeared WBCS group A interview in the year 2015 & 2016, but tested failur on both the occassion. I kept my patients and appeared interview in 2018 and finally got selected as dy.sp.

It is not an inspiration. It's just a story of wasting time and wasting his father's income. If someone thinks of social work, why should they join IAS or IPS. Because this post is just a post but they cannot do extra work outside our constitution. So, if you join as a social worker thinking, you have to join politics because it is the real way to get the right solution.
