It's great to read all the amazing theories you guys have. I would love to share my theory as well. I believe that Stree was none other but Rajkumar Rao's dead mother. I know you guys must be wondering what the hell! But I do have a lot of instances to support my theory. Firstly, remember how often the camera focuses on her hanging frame whenever they talk about his mother. There were like 4 instances where her picture was portrayed for more than 2 seconds. If you have noticed, you could see the exact face cut on Stree's face whenever someone encounters her and she shows the victim her beautiful face. Secondly, the past of both Stree and Rajkumar Rao's mother (RRM) is quite similar. RRM has been portrayed as a prostitute who was also denied of love by the society (probably of Vicki's father) although he loved her a lot since he brought up Vicky even after she was dead and hung her picture on the wall. Stree also didn't get any respect from society (probably coz she was also a prostitute) and was denied of love. Also, when a prostitute visit Vicki's house for collecting her money (the fat one which was portrayed as the first victim's girlfriend) and Vicky says that he didn't do anything and asks her to come later, that kind of matches with the frame line “O Stree Kal ana” and generalises the concept of prostitution as when men neglect women when they no longer need them. Since RRM was also the same, she was really obedient to the frameline and doesn't attack the house which had it written outside. There was a book which had some information on Stree. I wonder how the writer of that book came up with the phrase that only a “tawaifzada” can save their village. Maybe because Shraddha Kapoor knew that Vicky was Stree's son and she won't kill her son so easily which would give Shraddha some time to splash some ritualistic chemical on her to overpower her and that's why she fed this into writer's mind and he came up with the phrase. Another point could be that Shraddha Kapoor, RRM and Stree all were the same and they just wanted the society to respect women and mean no harm to anyone. That's why she didn't kill any of the victims she captured. But the movie has more examples of Shraddha not being Stree and more of another witch that roams place to place in search of power. That's why she was coming to that village from last 3 years but couldn't kill Stree on her own. But if that is the case, then why didn't their plan to capture Stree succeed? Stree was portrayed as an obedient witch but since Shraddha also knew the plan, Stree didn't fall into their trap and took a right instead of a left. Also, where was Shraddha when Stree took 20 men in one night? I wonder why Shraddha's one of the favourite place was the old castle. Maybe because she could torture the captured men in there. Who knows? Let it be a mystery and wait for the sequel. 2nd thought Everyone is asking this after watching this movie! Well, the makers came up with an open ending, so one may interpret his/her own ideas. Read my as follows: Stree is the prominent chudail here who takes away men naked as a revenge policy coz she and her lover were killed by villagers not letting them get married as she was a beautiful prostitute. Rule of the society: Prostitutes never get married. I think this was the basic idea on which the writers RAJ and DK were working on but in midst of production, they thought why finish an awesome story. Let there be space/options for new adventures of STREE. The movie if comes out as an underdog at BO, just like FUKREY, RAGINI MMS, etc; more money can be minted with sequels. So, they thought something quite like BAAHUBALI. Unanswered questions! Why Katappa… Who is the real Stree? To present this in movie, they rewrote the story, screenplay. What they initially wrote was a simple story where Shraddha Kapoor(SK) was just a black magician trying to get control on STREE, changed to SK was another chudail who was trying to get that ponytail of STREE. Now, there are two scenes in the climax: Vicky was always unable to know SK's name and contact details. She told him to just think about her and she will appear. She sits in the bus and leaves. Then, she merges that ponytail into hers and disappeared. This scene makes plot for new adventures of STREE like has SK became STREE now, or was she the sole culprit, maybe she wanted to kill STREE, she and STREE were doing everything together, she was that STREE and left after the 4 day festival ended, she was weaker chudail then and now became stronger, she was taking revenge on STREE as she lost someone close to her maybe coz of STREE or maybe not and many more. After 1 year, STREE “returns.” She finds her statue and note: o STREE, raksha karna. The Stree thus has become a goddess for villagers and they have started giving her due respect but stop, has she found out that love she needed in her life or still she's in search of that love? What is it now the villagers are asking STREE to protect them from? What I am thinking now is when the first time Vicky went the old palace, he saw some portraits carved out of STREE getting married which amused him. When STREE called out his name and he turned around, he and STREE really felt some sort of connection. And STREE did not kidnapped him away at once as she could have done that! Suddenly, SK throws a dagger, which I think was to kill Vicky and not for stree. Vicky was STREE's lover in his previous life and has reincarnated now. He was that long lost love for whom STREE was searching for. If he gets killed, it will take many more years for STREE to find his love again. Surprisingly, he's safe and thinks SK is a nice saviour woman in his life and admires her as his love. The 2nd time they went to the palace SK wanted Vicky to kill STREE himself, but he backed off due to his soft hearted soul and humanity feelings (remember that previous some sort of connection.) When STREE came to know about SK's plot, she piled upon SK and everything was just going fine but Vicky unknowingly cuts off STREE's ponytail (STREE shouted many a times on Vicky to make him remember about his past life but failed.) He has still not got his previous life's memories back but STREE has just got him back and doesn't wants to lose him again. SK knows this as she is also possessive about Vicky (she told that she also has lost someone because of STREE and now will never come back to her.) Now Vicky will always keep thinking of SK and she will appear always. That's it, she's got the man. And she's also got STREE's powerhouse, her ponytail (she asked Vicky to throw away the ponytail after cutting it and he does exactly that, she keeps it with herself and nobody else knows that.) But will STREE give up so easily!?No, she's back after one year. But what she'll do now? How will she get Vicky, her love back? Also, I believe that it was SK who hypnotised JANNA later on so he appears possessed and made him erase “o STREE kal aana,” while STREE was being grateful to his love when she returned JANNA to Vicky. The conclusion is that SK is the real villian here and STREE is the real hero. And after 1 year, she's back to protect villagers from SK who's very powerful now. The movie reaffirmed its title: STREE. A woman can go any and to every extent to get what she wants. So, which STREE got that feminity more? WHO IS THE REAL “STREE?” Let me know what you think of this theory.

I believe that Shraddha kapoor herself was a stree. She was just testing whether Vicky would kill her another avatar. He didn't kill her and just cut her ponytail which meant that he respected her. Her faith in humanity was restored so she set free the men she had earlier kidnapped. She came to the village next year just to find that people now respected her (seeing her statue at the village) so now she is at the peace. Vicky was the chosen guy because his mum was prostute so he could understand how a lady would feel and her feelings and that's why he respected women.

Watched this movie today.. what I felt, it followed the hollywood trend of horror movie, making the interconnected series, like next movie me pichhli movie ke past ko dikhana. This movie is really a good project, horror bhi hai and amazing comedy. What I liked most were chhoti chhoti ganw ki aur aam logon ki baatein aur baarikiyaan,. Every single character has done tremendous acting as. Yes Tripathi and Shraddha must be together film ki kai baatein is taraf indicate karti. Eagerly waiting for the next part 😊

Whatever maybe the reasons this movie freaked me out as hell!!! I hope that the same team makes the sequel bcoz sequels of hit films are always flop. I think there is relation between rudra and shama bcoz of the calls and no one in village know about rudra (how come) as people ask him how do you about stree while if he was a member of that village People should have known him. And the part where she vanishes from the bus and the stree coming back freaked me

I somewhat agree that stree was Rajkumar's Mom. But then how come his father was alive? As in the story they mentioned that Gaon waale killed Stree & his boyfriend both. But, there is 1 scene in which rajkumar says that ¨pata nai mera baap kaun hoga..mujhe toh bas itna pata hai woh ek darji hai jo gale me tape dalkar khada rehta hai´´ - This means he also dont know who his father is. The film´s a mysterious....lets wait for sequel.!!

Two probable explanations.Take whichever is more viable. 1 - The character of Shraddha Kapoor(SK) is stree,the way the camera shows stree's first person view is the same as whenever SK came to call Vicky,appearing out of nowhere as well as disappearing. In that case,the stree we see in the later part of the movie is just a fake projection of her. That would mean she was testing Vicky as a worthy candidate and wanted to assure them that she was helping them for her own purposes.The attack,SK's trying to protect Vicky and the last attack by Stree on SK might have been a hoax,just to ensure her need,which may have been getting the respect of the villagers. 2- SK's character isn't stree,but a rival in her own field,or interesting even,an obstacle in her path. There may have been more than one spirits that were created,a conflict occurred between things which created such scenario. In the whole movie,Stree never killed anyone,but tried to kill SK for that matter,as in sometimes when the student tries to destroy her own teacher after gaining more powers. Something restricted SK to do it on her own,so with the help of Vicky,she gained the power she was searching. P.S : Three more things that you might have noticed- I- In the ending,the spirit that comes back before the statue may not be the same person,if SK and street are different. II- The portrait of Vicky's mom was showed twice only.Whether that had to do anything with this incident or not is debatable. III- If you look at the film poster,SK's lehenga floats in the air,the same way Stree's one does. And some people said Stree has a resemblance with Vicky's mom after seeing her,but I would say if you look in the poster,the chin of Stree is shown,and it is the exact of SK. Rest,up to your imagination! 😉

Why isn't anyone interested in Rudra's character????🤔🤔 The story of Stree is narrated by Rudra (Pankaj Tripathy) and also he took everyone to that writer's house!! He might be faking everything about the story of Stree!! I feel something mysterious about his character as well!! He talks to someone named "Shama" on the phone but never in the movie was anything revealed about who she was!! Although at a certain point in the movie, when they were in the library and Rudra was explaining the story to them, he mentioned once that Shama is no more!! I need to watch the movie again! This movie has peaked my interest to a different level altogether!! A sequel to Stree is coming and that's for sure!!

I saw movie today with friends and was curious to know who Shraddha Kapoor exactly was? According to my friends Shraddha is stree but I strictly disagreed with same logics you gave. A shared your video with me as I made him curious too and convinced him somehow that Shraddha is not stree but again some mystic being (kaala jaadoo waali or whatever). Felt happy after this video, that you share same possibilities. But still curious about her character and definitely wish for a sequel of this movie.

Vicky ki mother because usne Vicky ko harm nhi kiya and movie ke hisab se Vicky ki mother ki dardnaak maut hui thi and Shraddha / mysterious girl ne vicky use Kiya stree ko harane me kyuki voh janti thi ki ek maa Apne bache Ka bhala chahti hai. Vicky ki mother marne ke baad chudel Yani stree ban jati hai. Shraddha ek chudel hai jo stree ki power chahti hai isliye voh stree ki choti ko apni choti Mila leti hai. See, I'll summarise everything. Shraddha Kapoor is another power hungry witch who uses Vicky to get stree's power. Vicky cuts stree's braid and shraddha Kapoor takes that braid with herself. And then she joins that braid with her pony-tail. Now shraddha Kapoor gets all the power of stree and she becomes a powerful witch. Meanwhile the original stree returns to chanderi, and she finds "oo stree raksha karna" That means ppl are requesting original stree to protect them from now powerful witch (shraddha Kapoor)

Shraddha is stree in movie. This is known when shraddha never enters in Temple. Also she comes only four night. She was going to marry Vicky but she was killed. She wanted to test Vicky. She wanted love and respect from him. When she got it, she simply went away.

The movie left many unanswered questions to the imagination of viewers. 1) Who was stree? (Description given was vague) 2) What happened to Vicky's mother? 3) Who & where is Rudra's "Shama"? 4) What was stree doing with all the men she kidnapped?? Why were they even kept alive? 5) Who was Shraddha Kapoor's character? 6) What happened to Shraddha's character in the past? 7) Why was Shraddha unable to kill stree? 8) What actually happened to Shraddha in the last encounter with stree? 9) If stree became powerless after her pony was cut, who came to Chanderi the following year? (last scene) Any explaination of the film's end part would depend on various assumptions.. Hence no explaination could be considered conclusive.. Therefore waiting for STREE-2.

I feel Shraddha was Stree. From first intro itself we know that shraddha disappears leaving Vicky puzzled. Maybe Stree wanted atleast one person to understand what she truly wanted. I appreciate ur explanation, but i hold different views regarding the plot. In my opinion, it wasn't stree who abducted all men from the village, it was shraddha instead.vicky's friend janaa wasn't possessed by stree, but by shraddha herself. Shraddha was a master in dark magic and it was only shraddha who knew how to get rid of stree from the beginning of the movie. Remember the lost pages from the book? It was indeed shraddha who stole or hid all the crucial informations regarding stree from the book. Question is, what kinda information that page might contain? Is the information really that much crucial? Yep, sure it is.That's y she still has the page with her nd she doesn't want anyone to read it else everything's gonna end.

I think Shraddha is the daughter of Stree and that man. Shraddha loved her mom(stree) but she also cares for villagers. Now look at her dialogues- 1. Good explanation. Even my explanation is pretty much the same. Shraddha is a budding black magician who wants stree's powers for some reason (maybe to take revenge for someone she lost?). She plotted the whole thing with Vicky as her pawn. & I too think Rudra knows more abt Shraddha. I think part 2 will be all abt shraddha's past n her secrets. Really very interesting storyline..apart from its comedy n scares. Fully enjoyed it. can't wait for part 2! :)

i think the stree chapter is over as they show in the end of the movie, that stree is now respected by the villagers and now not mad at them. the mystery girl's story will be not related to stree but will be about her story. They next movie will not be called stree 2 but something else.
