Being a firm believer in both science and religion, and understanding their importance in our lives, all I can say with absolute certainty is that the movie did a really good job of talking about some sensitive topics that social fanatics can't and don't want to talk about. Yes, the movie didn't do justice to the scriptures but neither do the modern men. In all my years of experience, what I've observed is that blind and absolute trust in religion and one's faith without ever questioning anything is the reason for many of the problems that have persisted since ancient times. You talked about a lot of references to our scriptures and I'm thankful to you for the insight. But, let's not forget that those scriptures were meant for the yugas, those events were taking place and for the modern man to know about them, not accept them entirely. For example, if we followed ayurveda, we might have become extinct from certain zoonotic viruses ages ago because there's no cure for such diseases in ayurveda. The methods are archaic and if we didn't question them, we might have gone extinct from a lotta different factors. Similarly, though the movie misuses the religion in a way, it does talk about a very important topic that the Indian society needs to be aware of. Modern sex education is really necessary for a lot of different reasons but mostly to know how to respect the opposite gender. Now, for those of you wondering "We can just read our ancient texts"; just know that not the majority of today's population reads it and also, the texts are archaic. For example, in this video, you talk about how Krishna says that kama is the reason for all misery. But without kama, no beings would be born. Without the "Kamavasana", all life would be meaningless just as we see in recent Mahakumbh news about how people are leaving their loved ones to practice sanyasa. Coz' it is also mentioned that "You can be in a grihastha lifestyle while practicing your dharma". Because we are not Gods, it is our duty to respect and take care of our loved ones (the opposite sex, to be precise). Thus, I firmly believe that it was high time such a movie was released. The way it approached might not have been the best but the topic it talks about is an absolute must. Coz let's be real, it was this blind faith in celibacy and brahmacharya, stemming from our religious beliefs(not texts), that have made sex education a taboo in today's world. The consequences, women getting violated and disrespected on all levels. Our religion has always taught us to respect a woman. But. look around you today. The situation speaks volumes about the hypocrisy. Most offenders raise their hands for devotion in front of temples. But, it is high time we started respecting the things that God taught us. Once again, I'm not disregarding your points and saying that you are wrong. What I am saying is that today's westernized(not modernized, it's different) population needs to be taught through satire and fear of religion as a means. IT is our failure as a society and we have to accept it. The movie's approach might be wrong but the message is loud and clear and whoever doesn't like the message needs to do some self-reflecting. About religion, maybe once this generation is ready for it, we can incorporate the same to them. Because, for now, it all seems to just create a divide in our populous.
