Thanks for playing my scenario! Never would have thought it would get this much attention. As for the vacuum of space, I was referring to what happens in popular culture when someone goes into space without a suit, they explode.

Going with what is usually shown in tv series regarding vacuum of space, they are probably referring to the pressure difference that happens with the vacuum of space. Whenever a hole in space stations or space vehicles opens, it is sucking out all the air which causes a pressure difference. If the pressure difference is too big, you go splat as the body will either get squished in a similar manner to a grapes for wine or the inside gets pulled outwards similar to metal screws in the body when near a strong magnet.

I don't want to be a stuck up, know it all dude in the comments, but I want to make a correction. When a hole in the space stations or space vehicles is made, vacuum of space literally sucks out the pressure. To be squished in a similar manner to a grapes, as you said, the pressure needs to be bigger than the pressure of the internal gasses. As the vacuum of space is sucking out the pressure, there is only one possible outcome and that is the second one you mentioned. As the pressure of the internal gasses inside of the body becomes bigger than the one outside the body, the body expands until it bursts like a balloon! With a lot more blood and gore of course.
@DieuDeMort2 жыл бұрын
@@vasilijestevanovic5142 Well, I'm here to one up you. You don't actually explode in the vacuum of space, what happens is all of the liquid in your body boils off, and then all the gasses in your body are sucked out through the soft tissue while you turn into a popsicle. Yes, you might expand, but it would cause no where near enough pressure for you to pop. In fact, according to Business Insider, if you're just thrown into space, you'd likely lose consciousness after 15 seconds, and become unrevivable (at least, I'm assuming that's what they meant as opposed to medically dead, after which you can be revived for a short period) after 90 seconds. So not quite the instant death that is often portrayed.

The expansion and swelling probably relates to the vacuum of space part.

I think that this scenarios logic is simmilar to logic of SCP-3280 "After the storm" and to the certain extent the author could have borrowed the concept of living water, but still make it as their original concept without adressing SCP as its source(that is why the explanation in the description is written in such a strange way). But I'm not putting the blame on author for that as much, becouse the simplcity of that concept and the possibility of them still making it on thier own.

Vacuum of space made sense! What is vacuum of space? Differential of pressure. So said like vacuum of space because high pressure in body. Course it doesn't affect stuff like moisture vaporization pressure and degassing of body, but I will give it to the creator for the fun of people popping like balloons.

If you go into space without a space suit your body will start boiling and expanding untill you puff up and die or explode and die. Humans were made for earth pressure so with space it's like the blob fish being taken to the surface of the ocean, our internal pressure would make us go poof.
@Ronja_the_fairy2 жыл бұрын

If you want an explanation of why it's like space, the game theory episode about portal 2 explains it pretty well (kzbin.info/www/bejne/Znnam6CboJWIrNk ) In short it's that the air inside your lungs expand in space and the water in your blood boils into steam, making you explode. And some other horrible things
